It's almost midnight as I write this. I have been getting ready for my Bible journaling class that is Tuesday morning. I usually have a theme and I liked the idea of Jesus and the Son and how sunflowers remind me of how Jesus is always there for me. I made a kit with lots of cute sunflower graphics I got from various artist on Etsy. I usually have the idea for each month, a few months in advanced. I just did a personal study on Daniel. I also read about Rosh Hoshana, the first Jewish feast for fall. As I was preparing for this month, I realized our group would be meeting on the day Yom Kippur starts. It starts at sundown on the 4th until sundown the 5th. I read as much as I could on it from various resources. On Sunday our pastor mentioned Yom Kippur- the day of Atonement from Leviticus in the Old Testament. It confirmed my idea to bring this up at our study. Here is a page I did in my first journaling Bible.
Today is also national taco day and hubby decided to make tacos and a fresh pot of beans on Monday so we could enjoy it for two days! It is my mom's taco recipe. I taught him how to make it. Cooking is his hobby, and I am very thankful for that. I cooked the first 19 years of our marriage. Then we both cooked until he retired. I sure am blessed that he cooks! I still cook, but not as often. I enjoy it more in the cooler weather. The top two are the tacos with ground beef and potato filling. The bottom is part of the bean tostada with avocado.
We can play nicely though with Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 questions. Are you ready? Since the east coast is experiencing hurricanes and tropical storms let us explore the topic. Okay? Let's Go...
1. Expert survivalists and weather experts say it is wise to have a bug out bag handy in case of
evacuation, hurricane, earthquake or any emergency. You can see online how to create one. Do you have an emergency kit or bug out bag? We have a closet of things that we could throw in a bag if we needed to get out. We also have a lot of canned goods, water and other things for emergency use.

2. Do you have plans with your family on where to meet and what to do in case of emergency? No, we don't so it is something we need to discuss. Thanks for the reminder!
3. Do you keep your phone well charged and your gas tank topped off ? Is your flashlight kept fresh with batteries? Do you have a list of what to go where to go? We have lots of battery-operated candles. We have two large camping lanterns lots of smaller ones. I charge my phone at night. I have a backup charger for it and plan to get another one. I should get back up chargers for the grands for Christmas.
4. How about a little stash of emergency goods and foods to last a week or two? They say it pays to do this. Do you? Yes I do have a closet with the extras as mentioned in question 1. I should get a new earthquake kit. We had a bag in the car when we would commute 60 miles a day to work. We do have lots of camping gear in the garage.
