Friday Faves 5 & Saturday 9

Joining Susanne to share 5 things I am thankful for from this week.
Joining Sam for the Saturday 9, both links on the left.

Thankful for church on Sunday. I have shared pictures of my granddaughter singing at church. This Sunday she spoke before singing the song called Centered. She spoke of Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus. She said it came to her after learning the song at practice. She asked the worship leader if she could speak and He said yes. Another time the Holy Spirit has touched her heart.

Thankful for a women's worship night. Audrina was played the keyboards that night. I still remember putting her on my lap to play my piano. So thankful that she could play and sing in worship. I sang in school and church choir, but I could never play because of performance anxiety. A part of my walk has been letting go, in many areas. So, when they asked people to freely worship and even go forward, I did.

Thankful for my Bible journaling meet up on Tuesday. Several girls were missing for various reasons. So I got to sit on the main table and share about the kits and how the HS lead to a theme on Word and Jesus's baptism, I have been using names of Jesus each month. I shared how at Sunday's service, pastor read two of the verses I used, confirming my topics.

Thankful for time with the younger grands on Wednesday and my book study in the evening. and first day of school for the older grands on Thursday. Eddie is a senior and VP ASB. He has shorter hours this year, and will go back to his volunteer job once he is settled with his AP classes. Jazzy has a busy schedule with AP classes, Song leader and Sports health medicine. So thankful that all our grands are doing well!

Thankful to have lunch with my middle son and his wife. They told us about their vacation to the Napa wine area of California. They also told me how the plans were coming along for the family birthday party this Saturday for me turning 70, my granddaughter Jazzy turning 16 and my grandnephew turning 10. The main thing is the whole family being together!

Saturday 9: Shout (1985)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

This month we're going to recall Summer Songs. These will all be records that topped the charts during August.
1) Number 1 on the charts in August 40 years ago, the lyrics to "Shout" encourage us to "let it all out." When is the last time you raised your voice? A week ago.

2) This week's featured artists, Tears for Fears, were a duo -- Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith -- who met as teenagers in Bath, the largest city in Somerset, England. Bath has been named one of The Great Spa Towns of Europe. Popular spa treatments include massages, facials, body scrubs and wraps, mineral baths, manicures and pedicures.  If you could treat yourself to a spa treatment today, which would you choose? A facial.

3) When they first met, one of the things Roland and Curt bonded over was that they were both raised by single mothers. Who was your best friend during your teen years? What did you two bond over? I had a few friends. Some were from church. I met my friend Lissette in 7th grade. She sat in front of me in math. She had just come from Cuba. I befriended her with my broken Spanish. She helped me with my math. We didn't have a lot of classes together, but always had GAA which was last period. We took that class through high school. We had lunch a couple of years ago. I also  met my friend Anita at school in 19th grade because she heard a conversation I had about my old boyfriend and his brother Tony. I met her at Christmas, and we had lunch together last year. We also keep in touch on FB. My other friend was Mary Beth and she was my maid of honor. We keep in touch on Facebook.

4) Curt's wife, Frances Pennington, has had a long career in marketing, beginning in the record business and transitioning to fashion. Which industry do you think you'd enjoy more -- music or fashion? Music!

5) Roland married his childhood sweetheart, Caroline Johnston. They were together for 35 years, until her death. Do you know whatever became of your childhood sweetheart? My first real boyfriend was Oscar in 7-8th grade. We mostly saw each other at church youth group. I ran into his sister about 15 years ago. Shee said that Oscar was a Fire captain in San Diego. I told her to say hi and that is the last time I heard from her.

Let's look at the summer of 1985.

6) That summer, Chicago teenager Balu Natarajan won the National Spelling Bee. Are you a good speller? I would say average.

7) Tinker Bell took her first nightly flight at Walt Disney World in Florida. Do you recall which Disney movie introduced us to Tinker Bell? Peter Pan.

8) Derek Hough was a baby in the summer of 1985. In 2007 he became a regular on Dancing with the Stars, acclaimed for his ballroom dancing. Are you good on the dance floor? I don't know about good, but I did like to dance. It is harder now because of my lower back disc problem.

9) In 1985, Michael J. Fox became the first actor to have the #1 movie at the box office and the #1 TV show in the ratings. The movie was Back to the Future and the TV show was Family Ties. Have you seen the movie? Were you a fan of the show? My husband and I both saw the movie at the show.
It was okay. My husband liked it more than I did. I did like to watch Family Ties.

Friday Faves 5 & Saturday 9

1.Thankful to be able to watch church from home so hubby could go to church. I stayed with Minnie as she is recovering from her surgery. She likes to jump on the furniture.
Thankful for the nice Father's Day celebration at my son's house. We took Minnie but watched her closely. Daisy was not happy that Minnie could not play. Thankfully, we took Minnie's crate.

2.Thankful for a quiet Monday to work on my Acts study. I am enjoying digging deeper into the book of Acts and combining graphics and verses. This study runs through July. There are notes behind the word study page. I used a number of older graphics and stamps on this page.

3. Thankful to be able to help out with Vacation Bible School/Kids Con. It began on Tuesday and runs through Friday. I am a leader for my grandson's group, 4-6th grade. There is the main leader, 7 adult leaders and 4-5 youth helpers. There is praise and worship in the beginning and my granddaughter is helping with that. She also comes to help in our group.
4. Thankful that I have already started preparing for my next Bible journaling meet up that doesn't begin until August 5. I am praying for guidance on the October verses.

5. Thankful to drop my grandson off his first volunteer day at the hospital. They have assigned him to the OR room. Not sure what he will do. They gave him a shirt and he has to wear white pants and shoes. He will work until the first week of August. They have a few weeks off when school starts and then they can go back and volunteer during the year. He will get a letter of recommendation for colleges.

Saturday 9: I Fall in Love Too Easily (1945)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) In this song, Dinah Shore admits that her impetuous romances don't work out. Do you consider yourself impulsive? I can be at times, especially with ADHD.

2) The songwriting team of Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne composed this in a single evening. Since the song is rather short Sammy considered adding another verse, but Jule thought better of it, saying, "No. That's it." Are you more like Sammy and keep revising, tinkering and tweaking? Or, like Jule, do you find it easy to leave well enough alone? Depends on what it is. I am when I work on my Bible journaling lessons.

3) The song was introduced in Anchors Aweigh, a movie about two sailors who find love during a two-day leave in New York. Have you ever enjoyed a romance while on holiday? When I was a teen.

4) Though Frank Sinatra sang the song in the movie, Dinah's version was also popular. Her record sales in the 1940s were boosted by concerts, radio appearances and performances for the troops. What singer who is no longer with us do you wish you could have seen in concert? The younger me wanted to see Marvyn Gaye.

5) Dinah was shy with new people but discovered as a high school cheerleader that she was good in front of a crowd. Give us one of your high school cheers. First in 10, do it again, we like it, we like it!

6) She loved golf and was so good at it, she became the first woman admitted as a member to the prestigious Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles. What's your best sport? When I was in high school,  played competitive sports. I was on the senior team in Basketball, Baseball and field hockey. I enjoyed field hockey the best. I enjoy watching baseball, especially since the Angels and Dodgers are in my state. I got hurt at the post office in my early 20's and I have not really been very active in sports since. I am doing strength training now and feeling better.

7) Dinah found her greatest success in television. She was so popular for so long that she was able to afford a luxury home, built to her specifications, in Palm Springs. Leonardo DiCaprio now owns it. Do you know who lived in your home before you moved in? A young couple with a baby.

8) In 1945, when this song was popular, Abbott and Costello appeared in the movie The Naughty Nineties, which featured their famous "Who's On First" routine. Do you know it? I have seen it.

9) Random question – Fill in the blank: After all these years, I still miss parents. Mom has been gone 15 years and dad 12.

Thanks to Susanne and Sam for the memes and the links are on the left.
Longest day of the year and first day of summer!

Friday Faves 5 & Saturday 9

Another week has passed and I am joining Susanne at Living to tell the Story for the
Friday Faves 5 and Sam for the Saturday 9. The links are at the left.

I am thankful that I have a cell phone that lets me take pictures so I can remember what I have done each week. Pictures have date stamps and that is a great thing along with the calendar feature.

1. Thankful we were able to watch our younger grands Friday-Sunday while their parents were celebrating their 20th anniversary weekend away near the beach. I was happy we could Bible journal. Also that I could greet for 3rd service since she had to sing for all 3 services.  Hubby to her to church at 6:30. He stayed with Eljah and the doggies while we were gone.

2. Thankful to be able to see our granddaughter perform the National Anthem at our cities Memorial Day ceremony on Monday. She sang acapella and then sang again with two of her friends. It was a nice ceremony and we got to meet a couple of Korean veterans there. I have one uncle that served in Korea that is still alive. The rest of the day I worked on the final additions of the Bible Journaling packs.

3. Thankful for another Bible journaling day with my group. Now we will break until August. I will work on the next project over the next few weeks. I look for graphics and put them together with the verse I am covering. We covered two names of Jesus, Name above all names and The Anointed One. We also talked about Acts 2, when the Holy Spirit came to the disciples and friends while they were gathering for the feast of Shavuot, the feast of weeks and celebration of the Torah. There are 50 days from Passover to Shavuot and Pentecost is Greek for 50. Here is Audrina's page she had done with me.

4. Thankful to be able to go to breakfast with our marriage life group. We won't have any more formal meeting until September. We will continue to volunteer at the food panty prep day.

5.Thankful to be able to go with Eddie for his orientation meeting at the local hospital. Out of over 100 applicants. he was part of the 24 selected and one of two boys. The average GPA is 4.2! Eddie was missing a day at an amusement park with his ASB friends because he had to be at this meeting. Mom was at work, so I went. He has to have a physical and TB test that the Hospital pays for. Eddie will also have to leave ASB camp early to be at the 10-4 training day on June 12. The last day of his camp was a day at Disneyland. I feel bad for him, but he realizes that his future in medicine starts here. The kids that start this program and continue in the school year will get a letter of recommendation to the colleges they apply for. All the students are doing into the medical field. Eddie wants to be as surgeon.

Prior to this appointment, we took our Minnie to the vet and she has to have some dental work and a surgery to remove a lipoma on her chest. I am not thankful for the cost. But she needs it.

Saturday 9: Too Shy (1983)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song laments vulnerability and self-consciousness in a social settings. Are you often "too shy?" Or are social gatherings easy for you? I am an extrovert and can talk to most anyone in a small group. I would rather not have to get up in front of a large group now, but I have in the past. I think the biggest group I spoke in front of was near 200 women.

2) In the lyrics, a girl self-censors, telling herself, "hush hush." Have you more recently shushed someone, or were you shushed? I shushed my husband in a nice way when we were watching a movie and he was trying to share an experience.

3) Band member Nick Beggs recalls that they called themselves Kajagoogoo because it sounded like something that would make a baby laugh. It is fun to say. Can you think of another word that you just enjoy saying? "your so shilly" along with a tickle.

4) This was the only US hit for the British band, earning Kajagoogoo the title "One Hit Wonder." Can you think of another artist or band who had one really popular song and then just kind of disappeared?
One of my favorite songs back when I was a teen.

5) Though fame was fleeting here, Kajagoogoo remained popular in England. Lead singer Limahl recalls the adulation as "overwhelming," and he was shocked when he stepped on stage in Cornwall to see row after row of fans wearing their hair like he did. Have you ever handed a photo to a stylist and said, "Make my hair look like this?" Yes, back in January before the cruise.

6) In 1983, when this song was popular, the Lotus 1-2-3 program made it easier for PC users to make spreadsheets. Are you answering these questions on a Mac or PC? Laptop, phone or tablet? on a laptop.

7) 1983 saw Abbey Road Studios open their doors for the first time for public tours. During the first two months, 22,000 tickets were sold to fans who wanted to see where the Beatles made their magic. What's the last ticket you purchased? I bought the tickets in Nov, 2024 to hear Cece Winans at her concert in our town in February.

8) Also in 1983, McDonald's introduced Chicken McNuggets. When was chicken most recently on the menu at your home? How was it prepared? Chicken soft taco.

9) Random question: Have you ever forgotten where you left your car in a parking lot? Yes!

Friday 5 & Saturday 9

Thankful for another great week!

Church was great! I started greeting again and it was nice because I could hear my granddaughter sing twice. Later in the day we went to my son's house for dinner. Minnie is trying to play with Daisy now.

I got to sleep in on Monday and then worked on my Bible journaling kits. I was able to get them all done by dinner. I did have to stop to go to PT. I feel like I am gaining strength and I got a new exercise to do.

My Bible journaling class went so well. I always have a song to play based on our theme. My host played the Potters Wheel from Hillsong. I did a little shopping after the group. After I got home, I went to the backyard and listened to my Bible through the year reading on my iPhone. Then I played some music and watered a few plants. It was so peaceful out there. I watched a few birds fly around and I know some are in the process of nesting. I water colored these pages.

Hubby and I were going to drive to a Stationery store in Orange Country, but I was so tired that I decided to sleep in and relax. I finished some of my Bible journaling pages and my Crafty book.
Later hubby and I watched Survivor. We have been watching it almost from the beginning.

Thursday was another rest day. I did a little gardening and took picture of my roses. Later I was doing some printing and changed the ink. But I was not able to get the printer to work. I knew this was going to eventually happen. I have been looking online for another Cannon Printer. I have some Amazon gift cards I have not used, so what I have should cover most of the price. So thankful for that.

I had another good night of sleep which was a great thing for me. Somedays my sleep is disturbed, and it is really hard to function without good sleep. Hubby and I went shopping and I found some pants and a shirt to wear for Mother's Day. He got a couple pairs of shorts. So thankful to find some nice things at a good price. We stopped at Michael's crafts so I could use my coupon. I was really sad to see that the item I wanted increased in price by $3.00! So I decided not to get it. I did find something else. Then hubby and I went to Chilis for lunch. We shared the $10.99 hamburger lunch. We also got free chips and salsa.

Saturday we are going to a family baby shower and there will be a taco man there. Thankful for a great week! Everyone have a nice weekend!

Saturday 9: Georgia on My Mind (1978)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) These lyrics refer to "an old sweet song." What old sweet song is a favorite of yours?
Jesus Loves Me. It is one of the first songs I learned as a small child. The next thing that came to me was the Tapestry album from 1971. My mom bought me the album, and I still have it. Lots of really good songs!

2) Composer Hoagy Carmichael said he was inspired by saxophonist Frankie Trumbauer to write a song about Georgia. In those days, bands traveled by bus and Frankie enjoyed rolling through Georgia. Hoagy recalled that Frankie even volunteered the first two words, "Georgia, Georgia ..." If we were to organize a Saturday 9 bus trip, where would you recommend, we go for lovely scenery?
A drive to Temecula. The poppy's are blooming and they look so pretty on the green hills. There is lots to do in Temecula.

3) This version of "Georgia on My Mind" was controversial before it was even recorded. Willie Nelson's label, Columbia, didn't see the point of their outlaw country star singing an old standard that was associated with Ray Charles and Ella Fitzgerald. Willie had the last laugh. This record was a hit and Willie won a Grammy. Tell us about a time when you were a success despite opposition. ?

4) While it's at odds with his "outlaw" image, Willie was a popular and active high school student. He played three sports and was a member of Future Farmers of America. What school activities did you participate in during your teen years? I was in a youth group at my church from 7th -12th grade. We did a lot of activities. We went to summer and winter camp. We had fundraisers to fun those activities. We visited convalescent homes and went Christmas caroling. I was pretty active with school groups too. I played competitive sports in high school. I liked riding on a bus to play at other schools. I liked participating in the groups I was a part of. I was VP of our Girls League group and we planned the mother-daughter tea. We planned carnation day at school. We did service projects in that group and the other group I was in. I was also on the student relations group. I was also a candy striper one summer and traveled to Mexico for one summer and had a great learning experience. I also helped my parents when they were politically involved. I shared all these experiences on my college application.

5) Willie once worked as a tree trimmer, so clearly he didn't suffer from acrophobia. How about you? Do you have a fear of heights? No. I think it is exciting.

6) He wrote the lyrics to one of his biggest hits, "On the Road Again," during a flight, using the airplane barf bag as scrap paper. That was back in 1980. In 2025, do you handwrite onto note paper, or do you make all your "notes to self" digitally? I do both and have used a barf bag as a crafting piece.

7) In 1978, when Willie was singing "Georgia on My Mind," audiences were flocking to see the movie Grease. What's your favorite song from Grease? Hopelessly Devoted by You.

8) Also in 1978, Karina Smirnoff was born. After spending her early years in the Ukraine, she came to America and found success on Dancing with the Stars. Are you a DWTS fan?
Yes, I have watched it for years.

9) Random question: Do you ever carry a backpack? Yes, I took one when I went on the cruise and all other vacations.

Thanks to Susanne and Sam for our memes! Links are on the left.

Friday Faves Five & Saturday 9

1.Thankful to be able to go out to lunch after church on Sunday. We had a guest speaker at church that gave us information about a Christian college in Missouri and my son got some information because he wants to go back to college.

2. Thankful that my son Daniel took his two nephews- our grandsons and his dad on a fishing trip at the beach. It was a good bonding time and they went out to BJ's afterwards. I got us use my son's car to go shopping. I had a gift card to use and got some things I needed to make sandwiches for my Bible journaling group.

3. Thankful for another successful Bible journaling day. Our topic was on seeking the Lord, hearing His call. Last year we covered the names of God. This year we are covering the names of Jesus. I chose John 14:6:  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. I like to start the class with prayer and a song. I chose Show Me Your Ways Lord by Hillsong's Simply Worship CD.
Also, the 20th is the day I started Bible journaling, 9 years ago!
Here I am with my cousin Joanie

4. Thankful for better sleep. Waiting to here if I can continue physical therapy for my back.

5. Thankful for nicer weather.  We have had some beautiful sunsets. We will be 75 today and up to 85 by Wednesday, then it will drop.

Saturday 9: Flowers (2023)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) In this song, Miley Cyrus sings about gold as though it represents the best. Do you more often wear gold or silver? Most of my jewelry is silver. I inherited my mom's ring that is gold.

2) She also sings the praises of buying herself flowers. Are there any cut flowers in your home right now? No

3) She tells us she's going to paint her nails cherry red. Do you handle your own mani/pedi, do you go to a salon, or do you just let your nails go natural? I usually go natural and only wear nail polish when I go somewhere. I had my nails done before my cruise and the gel messes up my nails. I am glad I did it so that it would look nice for the cruise. I wore a light shade of pink. I have 4 cruise pages done so far and they are listed on the top. I am almost finished with the 5th page.

4) In 2019, Miley had vocal cord surgery, and her recovery required her to go weeks without uttering a sound. Would it be difficult for you to keep your lips zipped for a week? Yes!

5) Dolly Parton is Miley's godmother, and Miley singles Dolly out as the one who taught her "how to treat people well." Tell us about someone who was a positive influence on you. There are a few people that have a positive influence. One person that really had a positive influence was Vera Parks, my supervisor at work. She encouraged me to go back to church on a regular basis.

6) She is a massive Elvis fan and swoons every time she watches Blue Hawaii because he professes his love for Maile, pronounced "Miley." What movie have you watched many times? A Christmas Carol, Gone with the Wind, The Sound of Music.

7) In 2023, when "Flowers" was released, actor Sir Michael Gambon died. Though he distinguished himself performing Shakespeare with the Royal National Theater, he is best known for playing Dumbledore in several Harry Potter movies. Who is your favorite Harry Potter character?
I have not seen any of the movies.

8) 2023 was a busy year for England's Royal Family, with the crowning of King Charles III and the publication of Prince Harry's memoir, Spare. Do you have a favorite among the Windsors?
Katherine and Diana. I enjoyed watching the Crown on the Netflix.

9) Random question: Do your siblings have children? If yes, are you close to them?
Yes, we are a close family. These are some of the second generation with spouses.

Here are the 3rd generation, our grands. 2 are missing.

Thanks to Susanne and Sam for the memes. Links are on the left.

Friday Faves 5 & Saturday 9, Cruise update

1. Thankful for the rain we got this past weekend. Praying we get more rain this winter.
2. Thankful for starting physical therapy for my thumb and continuing PT for my shoulder.
3. Thankful to be working on my next Bible journaling lesson on seeking the Lord.

4. Thankful for hot, healthy soups to enjoy during our cold weather.
5. Thankful for the many pictures we took on our vacation so that I can share them here so you can have an idea if you want to take a cruise. I would love to take another cruise and we plan to start saving now. We spent a lot for this cruise because it was for our 50th anniversary. We won't spend as much next time, but don't regret doing it this time. We had a great time!

Saturday 9: Rikki, Don't Lose that Number (1974)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) In this song, a man asks a girl to spend more time with him and suggests they go out for a ride together. Do you ever take a leisurely drive, just for relaxation and pleasure? Or do you always have a destination in mind when you get behind the wheel? I always have destination in mind.

2) He repeatedly suggests that she could have a change of heart. What's something you've changed your mind about recently? Nothing recent. Don't let fear define you.

3) This week's featured artists are the duo Steely Dan. They earned the reputation as perfectionists, requiring take after take in the studio until they got their sound just right. Do you consider yourself a perfectionist? Or do you more often find that "good enough is good enough?" I am a recovering perfectionist. I have improved in several areas. I remember when I first started Bible journaling. I had my journaling Bible for a month before I did anything with it. I was afraid of making a mistake. But, Shanna Noel, the founder of Illustrated Faith said that we make the rules on how  we want to connect with God in our journaling Bible. It is not perfection, but the process of connecting to the Word of God in the way were created to do. Bible journaling let me connect to God in a deeper way through a creative way. I still study out of several study bibles and reading through the year using the Bible Recap program. There is a link on the top menu about illustrating my faith.

4) The Rikki of the title is a writer/poet who met Steely Dan's Donald Fagan when they were both students at Bard College. He had a crush on her and gave her his number, which she refused to call because she was married. She went on to teach in the English Department at the University of Denver, where her students would probably be surprised to learn she was the inspiration for a famous song. Is there something we would be surprised to learn about you?

I have shared a lot of things in my 22 years of blogging. I know I have shared that I wanted to go into the medical field but didn't because I was not good at math and the fear of failing. I went through infertility and lost 3 babies. God blessed me with 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
Going through infertility allowed me to really appreciate the privileged of being a mom. I knew all the stages of fetal development that I learned in college and other classes. But something really hit me hard when a friend's mom called for me to come and help because her daughter was sick and in the bathroom. By the time I got there she was having her baby at 18 weeks. She brought the phone, and I spoke to a nurse, and I explained what was happening. She asked if I was a nurse, and I told her no but had some medical knowledge. I credit God for getting me through what I had to do. I got to hold an 18 week, perfectly formed little girl in my hands for a few seconds and was in awe of her perfection. She was not alive. I had to separate my feelings and tend to her mom who was not doing well and very hot to the touch. We got them to the hospital, and I told the nurse she was burning up. I had asked the mom to put ice in a towel and put it around her neck as we left to the hospital which was a short drive away. The nurse kind of acted like it wasn't much, but then her temperature was taken and was 106! Things really moved at that point, and I had to leave the room. To make a long story short, my friend end up in the hospital for a week with an infection. That infection caused her to lose her baby. She was able to have twins a few years later. I will never forget that day.

5) Another woman who played a role in Steely Dan's success is Barbra Streisand. She recorded one of their early songs, "I Mean to Shine," for her 1971 album, Barbra Joan Streisand. It was her thirteenth album and though 13 is often considered unlucky, it reached #11 on the Billboard charts and was certified as a gold record. Do you have a lucky number? No, I don't.

6) In 1974, when this song was a hit, The Magic 8 Ball was still a top-seller at toy stores. It retailed for just $1.99, and promised that all you had to do was gaze at it, concentrate, and wait to learn your fate ... "if you dare!" If you could get an answer to one question about the future, what would you ask?
I don't believe in magic. When does the Rapture happen?

7) Also in 1974, Good Times premiered and the character JJ (played by Jimmy Walker) became a sensation with the catchphrase "Dy-no-mite!" What's another phrase that is forever connected to a TV character? Yaba Daba do!, Fred Flintstone.

8) 1974 was the year Barry Manilow became a household name with his first major hit, "Mandy." Do you have a favorite Barry Manilow song? I liked Mandy because our doxie was called Mandy. There are several songs of his that I like. I Can't Live without You, Copacabana, Looks like we made it, and I Write the Songs. You can find the songs here.

9) Random question: Imagine a beautiful little church on a hillside. Quiet, with stained glass and lovely pews. Well-maintained grounds with plenty of parking nearby. Seats 150. Perfect for a wedding ... or a funeral, because it's located in a cemetery. Would you consider getting married at a cemetery?
There is a cute chapel at Fairhaven Cemetary where my parents, grandparents and great grandparents are buried. There have been weddings there and I am okay with that. I might have my celebration service there if that is what my kids want that. Our funeral arrangements are all paid for. If they want to have it at out church that is okay too. I will be at the wedding supper of the Lamb in heaven and at total peace!

Day 2 of the cruise is posted, linked above.
