Friday's Fave Five & Saturday 9

Thankful for so many things. My trip is in 3 days and I am asking for prayer. I have a cold again and I am hoping it does not get worse. I am resting, taking fluid, Tylenol decongestants and eating chicken soup. I am almost packed and I have broken in my shoes. I have a few last minute things coming in from Amazon. I got a scale, so I will weigh my luggage by tomorrow. I spent a lot of time looking for shoes and I think I burned more calories shopping and I lost weight because I was not eating enough. So I am adding protein drinks too. I am trusting in God to get me through this so I can enjoy my trip.

Thankful that I am going with several of my close friends and there are around 50 of us going led by our pastor who has taken 3 groups already. 

I am thankful I found a backpack that meets the size requirements of Lufthansa airlines. Thankful that I was able to break in my Brooks shoes and Sketchers that I will use for the airport. I am taking one other lightweight pair of Sketchers if I need them.

I am thankful that you have been thinking about me and praying. I hope to post a few pictures here. Now that I have a new phone, I can access Blogger. I could not with my old phone.

I am thankful that my husband can cook and he will be fine when I am gone. Minnie will keep him company like she always does. The grands are here during the week before school and my daughter will check in on him. 

Eastbound and Down (1977)

1) This week's song was featured in the movie Smokey and the Bandit, the surprise box office hit of 1977. Have you seen it? No

2) Though not well received by critics, Smokey and the Bandit had one very famous fan: Alfred Hitchcock. The classic film director enjoyed re-watching the movie on video at home, often while having dinner. Do you ever watch TV with your meal? Yes, quite often now that it is just the two of us. If family comes over, we eat at the table.

3) Jerry Reed not only wrote and performed the movie's theme, he appeared in the movie as truck driver Cledus "Snowman" Snow. Have you ever driven, or ridden in, a big rig? No

4) He sings, "We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there." Have you recently felt rushed? These past couple of weeks have felt like that.

5) Director Hal Needham asked Jerry Reed for a song that explained the plot of the movie. He wrote this overnight and always considered it a happy accident. Can you think of a time when something turned out better than you expected? Yes, but I am too tired to think of something.

6) Reed was born in Atlanta and, coincidentally, he mentions Atlanta in the lyrics. Has your hometown been immortalized in song? I don't think so.

7) Jerry met Priscilla Mitchell at Capitol Records, where Jerry was a session musician and Priscilla was backup singer. Though she was only 18 when they wed, it seems their union was a happy one and they were together until his death almost 50 years later. If a newly engaged 18-year-old asked you for advice, what would you say? Don't rush into it and get pre marriage counseling.

8) In 1977, when "Eastbound and Down" was on the radio, nostalgia for the 1950s topped the TV ratings. The two most popular shows that year were Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days. If you magically transported back to the 1950s, what do you think you'd like about it? What do you think you'd miss about your life in 2026? Time with the grands.

Friday's Faves Five & Saturday 9

It is almost midnight so I am going to get my Friday's Faves 5.

1. Thankful that hubby and I could go my hometown and leave flowers at our mom's graves. We also stopped at a stationery store in the same city. Then we went back to our city and met my son and grandkids for Chinese food at our favorite place. 

2. Thankful to be able to go to first service to hear my granddaughter sing. They passed out really nice keychains to all the mothers'. I need to take a picture of it. Then we headed to my daughter's church and we enjoyed the worship there too! Hubby wanted to take me out, but I just wanted to go home and eat my Chinese food leftovers and be with Minnie our furbaby.

The grands got to spend the day with their moms, and I got to relax and watch tv with the hubs.

3. Thankful that I could sleep in on Monday. Monday was Women's study on Exodus and that teaching will be on Monday at a home where we will enjoy the final lesson and dinner.

4 My daughter took me to the movies on Tuesday, and we saw the Michael Jackson movie and it was pretty good. Took me back to my youth young adult hood.  Later my hubby and I met our other son and his wife at Olive Garden to celebrate Mother's Day. They gave us some gifts from their vacation in Japan. I am blessed that each of my kids took time to celebrate and make Mother's Day special.

5. Thankful to have our younger grands here for the day and they are spending the night so that their parents can celebrate their 21st anniversary at the beach.  It has been a busy day and now they are in bed. I am blessed to have my family close bye.

Saturday 9: Fun, Fun, Fun (1964)

1) This song is about a girl who borrows her father's Ford Thunderbird. When is the last time you drove someone else's car? I can't remember. Do the cars at Disneyland count? Last fall.

2) The teen in question is well known for ability to drive "like an ace." If we were to ask your high school classmates what they remember most about you, what do you think they'd say? My friends would remember me being in a lot of service clubs and GAA-Girls Athletic Association.

3) She told her father she needed the car to go to the library but used it instead to meet friends. Can you recall a time your parents caught you in a fib? No.

4) For this girl and her friends, fun centered on cars and fast food. What did you and your friends do for fun during your teen years? The thing I remember the most was being active in my church youth group. We did a lot of fun things year round. I remember football games and going to Bob's Big Boy for hot fudge Sundays.  ushering the school plays and special events in the auditorium. I liked going to the beach in the summer. I liked buying 45's when I could and mostly listening to music. I loved to watch American Bandstand and Soul Train. Here we are dancing at a summer youth group party. I am in the back right and I made my outfit.  I am dancing with the Helmut, a foreign exchange student from Germany. Clean fun, no alcohol.

5) Legend has it songwriters Brian Wilson and Mike Love got the idea for this song from a Salt Lake City disc jockey. He told them he'd lent his T-bird to his daughter so she could go to class at the community college but discovered her deception when the car was ticketed in front of a fast food restaurant. Can you think of another song inspired by true events? 1967 White Rabbit, Go Ask Alice a song by Jefferson Airplane, about teens and the drug culture. They made a movie about it. I never did drugs. The movie opened my eyes to the struggles of teens and drugs. I could list lots of songs, but this post would be too long. This was one of the songs and movies discussed in my Psychological literature class in high school. 

6) As in the song, the disc jockey punished his daughter by taking her driving privileges away. Were your parents strict when you were growing up? My mom was stricter than my dad. They were strict about a few things. I was a pretty good kid, and for the most part, I followed the rules.

7) This song was recorded on January 1, 1964. The Beach Boys had to work on the holiday because they were under pressure to meet a February release date. How did you spend New Year's Day 2026? We stayed home, watched the Rose Parade, had left overs and just relaxed. I probably crafted.

 

8) 1964 was a great year for Capitol Records. They had chart-topping hits by the Beach Boys, Barbra Streisand and, most spectacularly, The Beatles. The Capitol Records Building in Los Angeles is considered iconic and it's a stop on tourist bus tours. Have you ever been to Southern California? If yes, what did you do?

I have lived in So CA all my life. I have done many things. The beach is less than an hour

away. I have been to most of the amusement parks like Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Marineland. I have been to San Diego many times and visited all the fun things there. I am 1-2 hours for local mountains and an hour to Palm Springs and Los Angeles. A couple of years ago, I got to see the Hollywood stars walk of fame, I have been up the coast and the 395 along the high mountain ranges.  I have been to several museums, including the Richard Nixon and Ronald Regan library. That is just So California. Lots of places in Central and Northen CA.

Friday's Fave Five & Saturday 9

Look back this past week to the things I am grateful for and linking with Friday's Fave Five.

Thankful for a wonderful Easter. I miss the times that my whole family would get together. It was always fun to watch the kids collect eggs. This is the first Easter the grands did not collect eggs and they were all okay with it. Thankful to see Audrina lead worship at the Good Friday Service. Thankful that I was able to go to two services and see my grands. Thankful that my daughter was a part of a new church planting. She greeted and ushered and my grandson worked the merchandise center. Thankful to watch my older grand praising the Lord. Thankful that my youngest grand remembers to give me hug at church.

Thankful that my son and his family can take a much-needed vacation at the beach. Thankful how we can all help out with the dogs who have been staying here with us. They get picked up today.

Thankful for the fun time I had at senior fellowship. Thankful that my friend could take me. Thankful that in spite of our age, we can still have fun. Thankful to Pastor Erin who oversees this ministry. I am in the middle and Pastor Erin is in the striped shirt.

Thankful for ice packs and heating pads and physical therapy. Also thankful for physical therapy!

Thankful for my Bible study and faith journaling and Bible journaling that helps me through the rough times. Thankful that I will be leading a group for our Women's ministry that begins on Monday. Pastor Erin oversees that. We had a Zoom last night to go over things. Praying that my physical issues don't get worse. I welcome your prayers. 

Praying for a safe return for the astronauts of the Artemis mission. They will be splashing down in San Diego, which is an hour and a half from me.

Saturday 9: Leather and Lace (1981)

2) This song is a duet between members of two superstar groups – Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac and Don Henley of The Eagles. Which band do you listen to more often, Fleetwood Mac or The Eagles? I am more familiar with The Eagles.

 

3) In this duet, "lace" tells us she is stronger than we know and "leather" admits that sometimes he's vulnerable. Do either side of this lyrical equation apply to you? Do you think you're either tougher than people realize, or more sensitive than they know? For many years I only showed the tougher side of me. I am actually more sensitive. I have learned to accept that part of me too. 

 

4) Both Stevie and Don are born Westerners. Stevie spent her early childhood in Arizona and Don was born in Texas and stayed there through college. Today Stevie has two homes – one in Pacific Palisades and another in Phoenix – while Don has a beautiful home in Dallas. Do you feel rooted where you are? Or can you see yourself moving to another city or state in the future? I have always lived in So California along with the rest of my family. We are happy here and no plans to move.

 

5) Stevie and Don were romantically involved in the 1970s, but after they broke up they remained friendly. Not only did they record this song in 1981, they went on tour together in 2005. Have you recently heard from an ex? No

6) Stevie admits a lifelong passion for Animal Crackers, those little cookies shaped like tigers, bears and elephants. Is your go-to snack sweet, like Stevie's, or is it salty? I prefer salty. But even salty turns into sugar! So I have to limit both!

7) Don likes Velveeta on his burgers. Describe your ideal cheeseburger. I don't eat cheeseburgers.

8) In 1981, when this song was popular, both Maserati and Mercedes Benz introduced luxury convertibles. Have you ever owned a convertible? Would a convertible be practical for your lifestyle? No and no.

9) Random question: What are you most looking forward to this week?  Seeing my whole family on Sunday. We will be celebrating my daughter and grandson's birthday. It will also be a go away party for my middle son and his wife who are going on vacation to Japan on the 15th.We will be studying from the book of Exodus.

Friday's Faves 5 & Saturday 9

Thankful for a great weekend. Our granddaughter sang again on Sunday. She loves to sing! Also thankful for the kick off to the next women's Bible study on Exodus. It was a good introduction to my Bible journaling for Tuesday.

Thankful for my Bible journaling group that met on Tuesday. All the women brought snacks, and I made roast beef sandwiches while the women had chat time before we started. I recapped last month's study and about talked about the Wise Men and the journey to Egypt. I also went over the 10 Commandments and talked about how Jesus quoted Deuteronomy and tied that to the 10 Commandments. One of the girls made each of us a bracelet. I made myself one to this week.

Thankful for our marriage group that met on Tuesday. We have lots of food there too! I am glad we can discuss the sermon and the verses covered. 

Thankful that the rest of the week was quiet and I didn't have to go anywhere. Especially since it has been in the 90's I got to watch a video for a study I am doing with Max Lucado called In the Footsteps of the Savior. It is through Faithgateway.com. I hope to get caught up this week. I got three books to do with this study. God willing, the war will be over and we can still go to Israel in October!

Thankful for study and rest on Friday. I was supposed to go to Disneyland, but it was just to hot to go and I got a lot of study time and hubby and I caught up with our shows.

Saturday 9: London Town (1978)

1) Have you ever visited London? No

2) In this song, Paul sings of encountering a London street musician playing the flute. Are there street musicians in your town? Not that I know of.

3) It's raining as he wanders around London. How is the weather where you are today? Hot! mid 90's.

I didn't get to go to Disneyland on Friday because of the high heat.

4) "London Town" is one of a handful of songs credited to Paul McCartney and Denny Laine, his bandmate in Wings from 1971 to 1981. They became fast friends in the mid-60s when Denny was with The Moody Blues, the band who opened for The Beatles on their final UK concert tour. Paul has acknowledged Denny's outstanding vocals and guitar playing, as well as his humor and generosity. Share the good qualities of one of your close friends. She is very generous, with her time and finances.

5) Wings broke up in 1981 when Paul decided he was weary of touring. His kids were in school, his Beatle bandmate John Lennon had been murdered, and he simply felt more comfortable staying put and working in the studio, rather than performing live. Denny believed this would mean his role, and his financial compensation, would diminish so he quit Wings. Tell us about why you left one of your jobs.

I left my job at the Treasury because I got hired at the postal service.

7) Paul's first car was a 1964 Aston Martin DB5. He selected it himself before The Beatles went off on their first world tour and it was waiting for him when he got home to London. He drove it when he shouldn't have, as he didn't get his license until spring of 1965. When did you get your driver's license?

A few weeks after I turned 16 and I am 70 now. I can't drive at night because of cataract.

8) Speaking of driver's licenses ... Last year someone bought one of Paul's expired driver's licenses at auction for $20,000. When you get a new license, passport, or state issued ID, what do you do with the old one? I got a new passport a couple of years ago. My husband had the old one put away.

9) Random question – Which do you have more of: dirty dishes in the sink or dirty clothes in the hamper? Dirty clothes. I only wash clothes once a week. Dishes are washed daily. We wash dishes as we go. If I leave dishes in the sink to get back to, they are usually washed by my hubby. 

Friday's Fave 5+ & Saturday 9

It is Friday evening and never too late to be thankful for this past week.

It was nice to be back at our home church after visiting a satellite campus the last two weeks to hear our granddaughter sing. It was our turn to greet too. It was nice to see people get baptized and granddaughter sang Back to Life.

I was able to sleep in on Monday and Tuesday and I always appreciate sleep that is longer than 6 hours. I have been reading before bed and that really relaxes me. I am reading First Light from the AD Chronicles. It takes place around 33AD. It is historical fiction and it is a good way to learn what was happening during the time of Jesus. So thankful for a great book series!

My friend picked me up on Wednesday morning for senior fellowship. I found out my grandson was getting an award that time too. So I dropped off my dessert and headed to the school next to the church. The school meets on Wednesday mornings for chapel. The 10th-11 graders did the worship and devotion. Then they passed out the awards. My daughter in law was the moderator that day. After he got his award, I went back to the church side to join my friends for the potluck lunch before the bingo games started. Thankful that my grands can go to Bright Beginnings Academy. Thankful that our church has a fun day for the seniors and thankful for my friend Linda, who drives me around.

I am going to Israel with the three girls in the front.

Thankful that most of the family could watch my grandson's volleyball game. Thankful that my daughter could take me and then we went to my son's house for dessert. My husband brought my granddaughter over after she came home late from school.

Thankful for an awesome all campus worship night on Thursday evening.

Thankful to watch our grandson play again at their campus on Friday and they won again!

Saturday 9: I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover (2001)

Selected in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it here.

1) This is one of the songs included in Willie Nelson's Rainbow Connection album. He named it after his daughter Amy's favorite song when she was a little girl. She'd been asking him to record "The Rainbow Connection" for 20 years and finally, in 2001, he came through for her. Think of something you had to wait for. Was it worth the wait? It took me 4 years to have my first baby after 3 miscarriages. It was a rough pregnancy and labor. He was worth the wait and I was blessed with two more.

2) Willie can trace his family tree back to the Revolutionary War. Are you interested in genealogy?

I was a part of Ancestry but I did not want to pay more money to learn more. I got to 5 generations past. More important to focus on the current generations.

3) Today Willie is legendary performer, but as a child, he was very uncomfortable in front of crowds. He recalled that during his school days, reciting in front of his class made him so uncomfortable he suffered nose bleeds. When did you most recently have a bloody nose? I can't remember. Maybe in high school when I got hit while playing field hockey. That would be around 1973

4) During the 1990s, Willie had problems with the IRS. His management team set up illegal tax shelters and he ended up owing millions in back taxes and penalties. This year's IRS filing deadline is Wednesday, April 15. Will you be early, on time, or will you need an extension? I hope we are on time!

5) In "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover," Willie sings about appreciating something he has previously overlooked. Is there anything positive in your life you feel you may take for granted? At my age, I don't take anything for granted.

6) Four leaf clovers and shamrocks are considered good luck. Do you have a lucky charm? No

7) "The wearing o' the green" is one way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Will you wear something green in honor of the day? Yes, I have several shirts I can wear.

8) According to Irish folklore, if you catch a leprechaun he must either give you his pot o' gold or grant you three wishes. Would you choose the gold or the wishes? 3 wishes.

   

9) Traditional Irish stew is made with mutton or lamb, though here in the US beef is also very popular. What's your favorite soup/stew? Homemade chicken soup is my favorite. Then albondigas(meatballs) with veggies and rice. I do like shepherd's pie and I prefer lamb.

Friday Faves 5 & Saturday 9

Thankful for another great week ! Joining Susanne for:

Friday, a fun day at Disneyland and a mostly restful day on Saturday. I wanted to go to Daiso so I suggested dinner at Chilis after Daiso. I had not bought any crafts since before Christmas. We each had the 3 for $10.99 at Chilis and we had enough left over for Sunday!

Sunday was a nice day too. We went to church and I was able to talk to a few people about our trip to Israel. We stopped at Aldi for a couple of things end up getting more. Not good to take the hubby with you! But we did need more than I thought. I printed some things for the party my daughter in law had to make vision boards and I shared that on Tuesday at lifegroup. I liked what I did so much, that I also did it in my faith journal that I am keeping this year.  Sure glad Monday was a rest day!

Thankful for our marriage group on Wednesday. We talked about grace and how the enemy does everything to keep us believing that God loved us when we trip up. I shared how I went through a deep period of depression and anxiety. How I needed to get help for it and went through counseling and see a doctor. God used me in spite of it and then I was able to counsel with women going through depression. I had issues I had to deal with and was going through perimenopause too. 

Thankful that my plans for today were canceled on Thursday because I needed the extra sleep. Plus the weather dropped from a sunny 79 on Tuesday to a cool and cloudy 62 with some rain.

Saturday 9: Up the Ladder to the Roof (1970)

1) Many people are uncomfortable with ladders. Some feel unsteady on the steps, others have a fear of heights. Then there's the superstition that warns against walking under ladders. Are you afraid of ladders? No, and I still use them as safely as possible. Not afraid of heights either.

 

2) In this song, the Supremes advise us to go up the ladder to the roof to be closer to Heaven. While poetic, that's not really why most homeowners climb onto the roof. They're more likely replacing shingles or cleaning the gutters. Have you ever been on the roof of your building? Not this house, but I was at my previous home. Probably before I knew I had osteoporosis.

 

3) The record was the Supremes first and biggest hit without Diana Ross. When Jean Terrell replaced Diana as lead singer, the two ladies appeared together at a press event to launch this new iteration of the Supremes. Have you ever met your replacement at a job, or perhaps the person you replaced? Yes, I had to train the girl to take over my place since I was being moved out. She kept calling me and interrupting my work and the supervisor told the Postmaster and he told them to stop calling me. The marketing manager went above the postmaster and I was brought back. I was the coordinator of the vending machines. Those were the machines you could put money in and choose the stamps you wanted. There were 16 choices. The program was being closed down in 2010. So I was in charge of closing the program down and there were over 400 machines in our district. We were number 1 in the nation for revenue. One of our locations was number 2 in sales and fell under Grand Central station in NY. Unfortunately, I had to leave after the program was closed down. They changed my hours and I could not car pool with my husband so I decided it was time to retire. I used all my vacation and sick time and then submitted my paperwork.

4) Mary Wilson was a member of the group when it was formed in 1959 and stayed through 1977, when the Supremes officially disbanded. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American stays at a job 3.9 years. Looking over your job history, how long did you typically stick with an employer? I was with the postal service for 36 years,

 

5) The third Supreme performing on this record was Cindy Birdsong. After the group broke up for good, Cindy finished nursing school and practiced at UCLA Medical Center. When did you last interact with a nurse or nurse practitioner? At my last appointment on Dec. 19th.

 

6) In 1970, when this song was popular, TV shows about doctors like Marcus Welby, MD and Medical Center ranked high in the Nielsen ratings. Medical shows are still popular today, with Grey's Anatomy entering its 22nd season and The Pitt earning critical accolades. Do you have a favorite TV doctor? I love medical shows and watched them all. I have watched Grey's since it started. I don't have HBO, so I don't watch the Pitt. I thought George Clooney was good looking in ER. I like all the doctors, but I have enjoyed watching the Chief of Grey's Anatomy. He has been there since the beginning and now is being treated for prostate cancer on the show and In real life.

 

7) Also in 1970, when this song was popular, audiences were lining up to see the movie  Love Story. Without looking it up, complete the film's most famous line:  "Love means never having to say you are sorry.." I was not much of a crier back then, but that movie made me cry. I ran into the actress Ali MacGraw sunbathing on the beach in Malibu and she was topless. We were visiting a friend that was a few houses down on the beach and my little boys were running her way. I had to grab them. She looked up at me and held her top to her body and smiled. I just told her sorry and left. On a side not, our friend we visited was Maria Florio and her mom Ida. Maria won an Oscar for a documentary called Broken Rainbow. in 1986. My boys were 3 & 5, so they probably don't remember the lady on the beach.

 

8) Slumberchums™ were all the rage among pre-teens in 1970. These sleeping bags had 

attached pillow "heads" that made it look like you slipping into sleep inside a plush bear. 

When did you most recently sleep in a sleeping bag? I can't remember but I know I did not like them!

 

9) Random question: Did you take a multivitamin this morning? If yes, did you swallow it or chew it?

I take a vitamin D3K2 every morning after breakfast. It is a gummy, so I chew it.

Fridays Fave 5 & Saturday 9

There is always things to be thankful for. In spite of what is going on around the world, I chose to be positive and thankful for my many blessings. Here are a few from this past week.

I am thankful for many relaxing days. I have been busy in the house, but I have not gone to many places and that is okay. No dashing for sales or classes. We went to church on Sunday and afterwards we went out to lunch with son's family. We chose Chilis and then headed home in the rain. 

Thankful for the online craft class for my crafty group. I love learning new things and getting ideas. I also had time to listen to the Bible on my phone. I am using the Bible Project this time. I wrote out a verse in my faithful planner. Hubby and I watched some tv and we just enjoyed the quiet. Our older grands have been off school and been staying with their mom and I know they have enjoyed the rest too.

My PT for Tuesday was cancelled. I really just wanted to stay in since it was raining, and I got more Christmas things put away. I spoke to the Insurance group that is covering our tour. Thankful for my online friends that make life interesting.

Thankful for the time I have to study and prepare for my BJ class. I like how the Lord drops ideas in my head for the lessons. How He gives me confirmation. I make folders for each month and put my ideas/verses/graphics in the folder. I may even get a wait on an idea or move it to another folder. I had Isaiah 41:31 in my folder for from last year. I even printed out the graphic and had the extra things for the pack and then I felt led to not use it yet. I wasn't going to use it this month either, but then I felt like I should. Then I had a dream that an eagle came down and hovered over me, and it was big. I thought I was going to be taken and eaten! But then the flapping calmed and before I knew it, the huge wings enfolded me and I felt peace. Then the eagle flew away. I don't always remember my dreams, but this is one I won't forget.

Thankful to be getting my house back in order. I took off the ornaments on the big tree Sunday. I packed them up on Monday and Tuesday. Hubby put the tree back in the garage today. It is hard to see it go. I do keep a seasonal tree that stays up all year. The seasonal tree has country snowmen and pinecones. I have another tree in the kitchen that has snowflakes. 

Thankful for a good physical therapy session! We also go to pick up the younger grands and spend some time with them. Its going to be a cold Friday here is So CA. 61 with wind is cold for us.

This song reminds me of my dad. I was 5 when this song and I remember him singing along with it.

1) The word "volare" is Italian for "to fly." Say something else in Italian. grazzi-thanks,  buono-good amore-love, bella bambina-pretty baby girl.

4) Bobby Rydell, like Frankie Avalon and Fabian, was a 1950s teen idol who hailed from Philadelphia. Home to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, Philly is Pennsylvania's most populous city. Have you ever been there? No. I saw a replica of it at Knott's Berry Farm.

 

5) Bobby was such a perfect example of a clean-cut American boy that when Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey sat down to write the play Grease, they named their fictional high school Rydell High after him. Do you have a favorite song from Grease? Hopelessly Devoted to You.

 

6) In addition to singing, Bobby also acted. His most famous film role was opposite Ann-Margret in Bye, Bye, Birdie (1963). Have you seen it? Yes

7) In 1960, when this record was popular, so were hand-loomed, 100% virgin wool sweaters from Italy. You could order one from the Sears catalog for $12.60 (approx. $135 in today's dollars). That sweater was labeled "dry clean only." Do you have any garments waiting to be picked up from the cleaners? No.

 

8) Also in 1960, Princess Margaret married photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones. They met when he was commissioned to take her official portrait. Who took the most recent photo of you? My granddaughter.

 

9) Random question: Is your oldest friend also your best friend? Not counting my sisters, it is my cousin Joanie. I keep in touch with my friend Lissette, we met in 7th grade and we met in 1967.
