Tuesday 4 and more!

We finally are getting some cooler weather. 80's is cooler for us in So. Calif. My days are always busy. Today I went to my women's bible study and had to leave early to go to physical therapy. I am improving in strength. The physical therapist is really good, and he is pushing me while encouraging me. He said I muscles may not get really big, but they will get stronger. The main thing is to be able to get up if I fall. To keep strength and balance so I don't fall! I need to work on getting more protein in order to build muscle. I need to make a food diary. I need to find more nonmeat sources of protein.

Today I got to Bible journal. I have been studying the Jewish fall festivals mentioned in the book of Leviticus. The Feast of Trumpets- Rosh Hoshana - Sept 25-27, Yom Kippur- Oct 4, and Sukkot or feast of Tabernacles or Booths- Oct. 9-17. I was really excited when I noticed some of these booths at my church. Our Spanish ministry is celebrating it. I took this picture before going into church.

It inspired me to do this page in my Bible.

I found some picture of palm leaves on the net. I printed them on vellum
and cut then out. I found a color page of the branches too.
The book of John, chapter 7 mentions Jesus going to Sukkot.

Bible journaling has helped me to learn a lot and I really enjoy it!

Once again it is time for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.  Did Toni invent it? Who knows. I don't recall but she kept it and other memes going that helped make blogging fun and interesting. She sure provided some subject to blog about when you had trouble finding things to post about.   I think she'd be pleased to see it continue.   I miss my daily interaction with her very much. I miss her too!

This graphic which is titled books to film inspired today's questions. I thought perhaps the topic of books turned into films might be of interest. I hope you agree.

Here we go:

1. What book turned into a film did you enjoy? Gone with the Wind.

2. Did you ever find the film version of a book to be better than the book or was the book better than the film and which book was it. I loved the movie that I saw after I read the book. There were parts missing in the movie, but I can understand why. It did not ruin the movie at all.

3. If you could decide what book should be a movie, which would it be and who would you get to play the main characters? I don't do much reading anymore. I spend most of my time reading from the Bible. There have been several movies that come from the Bible. Some are really good. But I don't like when they make things up or take it out of order. I did not like Noah. I loved The Prince of Egypt, probably because of the music.

4. Have you watched a movie and then had to go read the book or has the opposite occurred and influenced you to see the movie? I read the book I Can Only Imagine after watching the movie. I think the book went deeper. I did enjoy the movie. I did enjoy the recent Little Women.

Thanks for joining in and come again next week!

Happy New Year!

Last year I was busy playing Farmville, knowing the game was going to end. I had played this game since 2009 and it really filled a creative outlet. I met friends from all over the world. I was sad/mad that Zynga was taking it away. But it was also an answer to prayer, knowing I could use that time for Bible study. Little did I know that a little virus would also contribute to more time at home

I missed the game, but I had more time to read my Bible and a few other books. I had fun with my crafting group and was able to Bible journal with my grands. I also had my grandkids here since the schools closed down. It sure was nice when they started up again this past August.

I have chosen a Word each year for the past several years. 2021 was Hope. 2020 was Peace. The word I am thinking about for 2022 is Healthy. I know I need to get physically fit. I don't need to lose weight. I need to exercise and eat healthier. But more important, I need to get spiritually healthy. The Phillips Bible version says this. ..."Take the time and trouble to keep yourself spiritually fit." 1 Timothy 4:7

I also need to make better use of my time. I know I have ADD and I need to get more organized. I have never really done well with a planner. I am thinking of using one this year. I am thinking of combining my Project Gr8tful and my weekly Bible verse in it as well. I am really going to spend some time praying over these things.  Time goes by way to fast now and the older I get, the more I realize that I need to make the most of everyday that God gives me. In a blink of an eye, life happens. And speaking of a blink of an eye, I also feel we are drawing closer to the prophetic timeline of Biblical teachings.
Now that the busyness of the Christmas season is over, I plan to re-read my Advent study on the second Advent, Maranatha, Lord come! There are a lot of things I want to do.

normally wait until the New Year to start taking down my Christmas decorations. But I just felt I needed to get most of it done before. I have a lot of ornaments and I still pack all my Hallmark and Snoopy in the boxes. Even my husband is surprised. I want to spend more time in my studies and planning for Bible journaling with my grands and Life group. And of course more time with my family!

Saturday 9

Saturday 9: The Love Boat (1977) Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here. 1) The Love Boat ran from 1977 to 1987. It was in the Top 10 for seven of those 10 seasons. Are you familiar with the show? Were you a fan? Yes I use to watch the show and enjoyed it.

2) Every week, viewers followed The Pacific Princess as she set sail to a glamorous destination. Have you ever taken a cruise? If so, where did you go? Yes I have taken 3 cruises. A 3 day cruise to Ensenada, Baja Ca. in 2003. In 2006 my husband and I took a week long trip to Alaska. It was wonderful and you can read about it here.
In 2008 I took a New England Cruise with my parents and sister. You can read about it here.

3) Gavin MacLeod played Captain Steubing. Born Allan See, he came up with the stage name by combining the first name of a fictional character he admired, and the last name of a teacher who influenced him. Using his formula, give yourself a stage name. For example, Sam would be Hermione Hart (Hermione from Harry Potter; Hart for her Kindergarten teacher).Scarlett Haffner.

4) After the series ended, Fred Grandy (aka "Gopher") went on to become a Congressman from Iowa and then CEO of Goodwill Industries. If you had a bag of gently-used items to donate, where would you take them? The Salvation Army.

5) Ted Lange is best known for his role as the ship's bartender, Isaac. But he began his career performing the classics, and appeared at Colorado Shakespearean Festival and London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Let's class up this joint. Give us a little Shakespeare. Parting is such sweet sorrow. - Romeo and Juliet

6) Bernie Kopell played the ship's doctor, Adam Bricker. Kopell first appeared on TV in 1961 and was a regular on Get Smart and That Girl, and he's still acting today. But Love Boat was, by far, his favorite role. Working on the show was "absolute heaven" because he was paid to travel the world and meet his acting idols, like Oscar winners Greer Garson, Joan Fontaine and Eva Marie Saint, who appeared on the show. When you think of the best job you have ever had, what made it so good: the pay, the location, the people you met, or the work itself?

I loved my first job working at Toy City for one summer and Christmas season. I was 14 and still a kid at heart. I worked for the Postal Service for 36 years. I would say that the pay was good as were most of the people I worked with. One man I worked with was retired military. He told me back in the 70's that according to the Bible, the US would be taken down bu China and Russia. I remember that conversation vividly was we were both sorting international mail and talking about the Bible. In 1986 I got hurt and got moved to the Marketing department because of my computer experience. My supervisor, a woman talked to me about my faith and basically she rekindled my Christian walk.

7) Lauren Tewes played Cruise Director Julie McCoy. Today she lives in Seattle, appearing in local theater and -- between acting assignments -- working as a chef for a catering service. Have you hosted dinner for more than 8 people? If yes, do you remember what you served?
I oversaw many women's tea's at my church. I have also hosted family gatherings and showers. I had my Women's fellowship ladies over for lunch. I made Chicken salad sandwiches on croissants, green salad, fresh cut veggies with dip and fresh fruit. The dinner I had I set up a tostada bar for my son's rehersal dinner which we had in our backyard. We had 3 meat choices, ground beef, shredded pork and cubed chicken. We also had beans, rice, salad and a variety of salsa's. Hubby fried all the tostada shells in the morning. We also had small flour and corn tortillas for those who wanted soft tacos. We also had chopped cilantro, tomatoes, onion and olives for garnishes.

8) For the first nine seasons, the theme was sung by Jack Jones. The Grammy-winning singer says one of his career highlights playing Sky Masterson onstage in Guys and Dolls. In his late 50s at the time, had had to go outside his comfort zone, dancing and acting as well as singing before a live audience. Tell us about something new you tried recently.
I have learned some new crafting techniques this week while at one of my craft events where you take an empty bulletin board and create things to decorate it. I also experienced my first Zoom meetings this week.

9) Random question -- Which would you rather receive as a gift: one $500 wristwatch, or five $100 wristwatches? Depends on the watch. If it was an Apple wrist watch, I would for that. Otherwise, I would take the five $100 dollar wristwatches.

Sign of the Times?

This has been one year of turmoil and surprisingly, for the most part, I have felt peace. I am prone to feelings of anxiousness and at times depression. Every year I ask the Lord for my word for the year. I thought that arise was going to be that word but one morning as I prayed, I heard the word peace. I heard it several times during the week in one way or another. Little did I know how much that word was going to come to my mind that past few months!

I was at Annie's blog and her post talked about all the changes happening in the physical world. And everyone knows about the civil unrest happening all over the United States triggered by the horrible killing in front of our eyes. I try not to watch to much news because it is so depressing. I am spending less time on my cell phone too. I just can't stand all the political decisiveness that our nation has been going through.

Abraham Lincoln said "A house divided against itself, cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free" But he got it from Jesus who said it from the Bible. Matthew 12:25 New King James Version "But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand." There is a battle raging and it has been building up for years. What we see on the news or hear is just the surface.

As I Christian, I believe in the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:12 New American Standard Bible "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." These evil forces are having a field day pitting everyone against each other. Then add all the physical things that are happening to our earth including Covid 19.

Proverbs 3:5-8 NIV
5.Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Matthew 24:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places."

Yes this has happened for years. But the intensity is increasing. I have been seeing things going down for the past few years, a moral decay that has hurt our great nation. The biggest problem is that the people have take their eyes off of God. Years ago I went to a Bible study and this verse stayed in my mind. "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God." Pastor explained that people trust in everything but God." One of the things I have had to work hard in is trusting in God. I have wasted hours trying to figure things out logically with my little brain. But over and over His Word tells me to trust Him.

I am a Christian and I believe in my heart that we are getting closet to when God calls His people home, but only He knows the exact time and we have to be ready. I believe the stage is being set to usher in things that point us in that direction. Years ago at a bible study on the book of Daniel, pastor said something that has stayed in my mind. There will be 10 nations that will rule in the end times- the tribulations and the United States is not going to be one of them. He said that something will happen to the United States that will take our power and status away. I have been praying my Pastor would do an end times study and he started it this Sunday, Pentecost Sunday. Pastor said to be bold, so this is me being bold. You can read about Pentecost here.

One of the last things Jesus told his followers was to go preach the Word to all the nations. That Jesus is the Son of God and he is coming back. We will be ready? Crystal Lewis wrote a song called People Get Ready

If you do not know about knowing Jesus, I did this page.

The signs of the times are warning us to be ready. I will keep my mind on the Lord. I will teach my grands about Jesus.

John 14:27 Jesus said "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Colossians 3:15 "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be thankful."

John 13:35 New Living Translation" Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
They will know we are Christians by our love.

Pray God's will for our nation, and for all people.
