Thankful Thursday

It is early Thursday morning. The grands are still asleep. I can hear hubby in the kitchen as he is an early riser. I am usually still asleep at this time, but I woke up early even though I went to bed late. Then I remembered it is Thankful Thursday and I am in bed writing this out. Today I am thankful for......
A comfortable bed that we bought when we moved here 6 years ago,
Black out curtains to keep the room dark and cool
The grands that went to bed without any problems, the boys in one room, the girls in another.
The fun day we had at the park yesterday! Beautiful weather too 72 degrees!
The healthy appetite my grands have.
Our dog Minnie
The great cook that my husband is!

My new Bible study, chronological order this time.
Being able to Bible journal with my grands.
Job 37:6
“For to the snow He says, ‘Fall on the earth,’
And to the downpour and the rain, ‘Be strong.’

All the rain we had at Christmas time, almost a week of it and much needed!

Staying healthy. 3 of our kids came down with Covid after Christmas   They
are okay and we did not get sick. Great health insurance!

Being able to go to church,
All my friends I see and meet online.
This blog/computer that lets me visit. Lots of Christmas pictures on my previous post.

Mostly for my God who gives all things!

Saturday 9: For All We Know (1971)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

They played this song at our wedding back in 1974

1) This song is about newlyweds looking ahead to a happy life together. What are you looking forward to today? Much needed rain with cool temperatures. Hubby and I went to Carbon Canon Regional Park yesterday in Orange Country. The weather was beautiful. This park features a grove on Redwood trees. Most of the California Redwoods are in Northern California. We also took our Minnie and she did  very well  on our small hike to see the trees. Today we are relaxing. The grands will be coming over on Sunday.

2) They look forward to getting to know one another better. Tell us about someone who knows you well. Is it the person who has known you the longest? My sister Terry knows me the best. We are 16 months apart
can share everything.

3) The song lyrics are credited to "Robb Wilson" and "Arthur James," but those aren't their real names. Robb Royer and Jimmy Griffin were founding members of the 70s soft-rock group Bread. Are you familiar with that band? If so, do you have a favorite Bread song?  Baby I'm A Want You. You can find it here.

4) Richard Carpenter discovered this song on his afternoon off when he and sister Karen were on tour. He took a few hours to unwind at  the movies, heard this song in the film Lovers and Other Strangers, and decided it would make a perfect Carpenters record. How do you like to unwind? I like to listen to music, craft, read my Bible, and play Farmville on Facebook.

5) Karen Carpenter drank unsweetened iced tea, every day, all year long. Do you prefer your tea hot or cold? I prefer hot tea, especially in the cooler weather. I have to make sure it is decaf.

6) Elvis was a fan of Karen's and, according to the recollection of singer Petula Clark, hit on her when she and Clark visited him backstage in Vegas. Pet recalled Karen was very innocent and said, "I felt responsible for her so I got her out of there." Tell us about a time when you looked out for a friend. The last person would be my sister Terry.

7) President Richard Nixon was a Carpenters fan, too, and invited the duo to perform at the White House at an official dinner for West German Chancellor Willy Brandt. If you could hear anyone perform live in an intimate setting, like a dinner party, who would you choose? Andrea Botchelli  with Celine Dion singing  The Prayer.

8) Today Richard collects classic automobiles. He has a 1964 Ford Thunderbird, like the one Beach Boys sang about in the song "Fun, Fun, Fun." Can you think of another song that mentions a car? Fun Fun Fun is the one I like the most. I also like Mustang Sally by Wilson Pickett

9) Random question: Do you tend to feel more content at the beginning of the day, or at the end?  Every morning before I get out of bed, I thank God for another day, but it takes me awhile to "wake up" Probably because I am a night owl by nature and I get  lot of things done. Then at night I pray again and it helps me fall asleep
