Thankful for a wonderful Easter celebration service! My son and his wife hosted it at their house since they have the biggest yard. We had chicken, lamb, salmon, asparagus, stuffed mushrooms, bbq beans, macaroni and cheese and cornbread. We also had fruit and dessert. The 4 grands had a blast collecting the eggs and lots of them had money. I was happy that my middle son and his wife could make it.
Thankful to be able to sleep in on Tuesday. Then I went to physical therapy and I feel like my muscles are getting stronger. The weather was nice, and I did a little gardening. Later in the day I was able to watch my grandson play in his last home game for volleyball.
That is my grandson hitting the ball over the net.
Thankful to be able to study the Bible and enjoy it. My next Bible journaling group day is next Tuesday. We will be talking about the Potter and the clay, Martha talking to Jesus after Lazarus died and two names of Jesus, the Resurrection and Life, and the Eternal King.
Thankful for the nice weather through Thursday. Hubby and I were able to go out and garden. He had lost of weeds to cut and I had to cut back some overgrown plants. So glad my thumb is doing better! I planted 3 plumeria cuttings and a tomato plant.
Thankful for nice visit to a Japanese grocery store in the city next to me in the next county. My crafty group is focused on Tokyo this month. The leader is actually taking about 20 women on a 7 day tour starting this Saturday. We get these challenges to do in out TN(travelers notebook) So hubby and I shopped and I took pictures for my TN. I have a mini portable printer I an use to print out small pictures. Here are just a few.
After leaving there, we went to the Armstrong Center
to get a few plants for our garden.
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) A Greek philosopher said, "There is nothing permanent except change." The New Kids on the Block sang, "I'll be loving you forever." Who do you think is right? Or can both be right?
Over a lifetime, they can both be right.
2) In this week's song, New Kids lead singer Jordan Knight sings that he can't take a broken heart. What advice would you give someone struggling through the end of a romance? Not to let the pain turn into anger. To mourn the loss and seek help if needed. Hugs and prayers too.
3) Jordan was invited to join the New Kids on the Block by his friend, Donnie Wahlberg. Has a friend ever gotten you a job? A friend of my parents told them they were hiring full time college students. He was working in the human resources department at the time. The program was for a year and my husband, and I both got in before we were married. Later we both took the Civil Service exam to get in full time.
4) Donnie began his show business career as a singer/rapper. Now he's probably better known as an actor, appearing for 14 seasons on a popular police show. Can you name it?
Blue Bloods! I have watched the show from the beginning and was sad to see it end. Looking forward to the spin off with Donnie Wahlberg.
5) Much of the video for this song was filmed in the gymnasium of Xavier High School in New York City. When is the last time you were in a high school gym? This past Tuesday. I went to my grandson's high school to watch him play video. They won and now go on to the division finals.
6) The video also shows the boys enjoying pizza. What toppings are on your dream pizza? Canadian bacon and pineapple. The best pizza I had was in 2008 in Times Square. It was a white pizza, no red sauce, and 4 types of cheese. We ate it at midnight after watching Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
7) The band is back together! The New Kids on the Block will be appearing this summer at the Park MGM in Las Vegas. Do you have any concert plans this year? No concert plans, but we may be going to Las Vegas this fall.
8) In 1989, when this song was popular, Irish golfer Rory McIlroy was born. He recently won the prestigious Masters Tournament. Tell us about a competition you won. (Yes, your third grade spelling bee counts.) I played competitive sports in high school and we won lots of games. I won the Betty Crocker award for our district and was in school newspaper.
9) Random question – On which game show would you do better: Jeopardy! or Wheel of Fortune?
Jeopardy. I enjoy getting the correct answers and I learn a lot too!
