Tuesday 4 and Wednesday Hodgepodge.

1. Were you an adventurous child at all? Very adventurous! Being ADHD probably contributed to it.
2. What were some of your favorite places to go when you were a child? Amusement parks, movies, restaurants, zoo? I live in So. California, and there has always been a lot to do. I was born the year that Disneyland opened, so that was the best place to go. Knott, San Diego Soo, Sea World, and Marineland.
Those were the big things. Spending time with my cousins at our grandparent's homes. Riding my bike to the park was fun. Playing with the neighborhood kids without any worries. Doing things with my church family. Going to the movies with the family and church was fun too.

3. What games did you play outdoors?  Hide and seek. Riding bikes and skate boards. Playing in club houses. indoors? All sorts of board games like Monopoly and the Game of Life. Playdough, pick up sticks, jacks, skip tape and Etch of Sketch.

4.  Where did you grow up and do you think it affected who you are today? I live about 30 miles from where I grew up. I am me, and lots of factors have made me who I am. My family, my Christian upbringing, my life experiences ad children.

1. What do you think has remained the same about you your whole life? Being friendly and creative. My love of Jesus. How has your perception of yourself changed over time? I learned to be myself and not someone I thought I had to be. I appreciate things more now. I look back at my upbringing and can see the good and bad as an adult and know God has always been a part of my life. My walk with the Lord has grown. I got together with my sisters and brother and spouses and see that though there were some rough times growing up, we all turned out okay, and our families are all doing well.

2. What was the first thing you learned how to cook? Do you prefer to cook or bake? I would rather cook. I was about 12 when I learned to cook. I learned a lot from my mom, because she worked and needed my help. I also took cooking at school and had "homework." The food that stands out is my mom's tacos. It may not have been the first thing, but it was the best thing. My mom showed me how to cook the ground beef. She had me peel potatoes and cube them. They were cooked separate from the meat until they were almost done, then added to the almost cooked meat along with onion. It was the frying part that took time. Putting the meat in the warm tortilla and frying it in hot oil makes it taste so good!

3. What are some of your current priorities in this season of life? Elaborate. My family is my priority after God. My faith and prayer life has grown even more. My health. Now that I am nearing 70, I am thinking more about the things I need to do to prepare for when I go to heaven. At the same time, I want to do what I can to be healthy and active for as long as I can.

4. How much time do you spend on your hair each day or, put another way, what's your hair care routine? Do you get it cut regularly or just whenever the mood strikes? Do you go to the same stylist every time? Do you tell your stylist everything? Any other beauty treatments you indulge in throughout the year? I am a wash and wear girl for the most part. I will spend time on it for church and special occasions. I color it myself when I can. I get a hair cut when I feel I need it.

5. What is the most awe-inspiring place you've visited? The Mendenhall Glacier in Alaska and the beautiful waterfalls on the road to Hana in Maui. Also, Hawaii with my grands in 2018.

A few other places too like Yosemite, Mammoth, Grand Canyon and Lake Tahoe.
Out in the ocean, looking out a plane and being amazed that God lets us defy gravity!

6. Insert your own random thought here. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago to find out about pain/numbness in my lower back and neck that radiates to my hands and feet. All my blood test are okay. My x-rays showed I have degenerative joint disease and disc narrowing. I have also lost a lot of muscle. The doctor referred me to physical therapy. I am glad they did not just push drugs on me!
