5 things I am thankful this week.
1. Thankful that my whole family could get together at my son's house for a Christmas party.
Food, fun and games. I also passed out ornaments like I do each year.
They also got this ornament since they love to have smores at our house.
2. I am thankful that I am getting stronger. My physical therapist is very pleased with my progress. He is happy to see how my outlook has improved. I may have osteoporosis, but I can still exercise to strengthen my muscles and hopefully my bones. My weight has increased a bit which is good since I was underweight. I have increased my protein which is needed to build muscle. One thing he said that most concerns him with people that are senior is loss of muscle due to inactivity. He says that we have a higher incidence of falls because of this. Also, if you fall, will you be able to get up?
3. I am thankful for the may Christmas decorations I have that have been collected over the 48 years of our marriage. My parents gave us a box of ornaments the Christmas before we were married. We put them up every year. We have so many ornaments that we have 6 trees decorated. That doesn't count the one in the kitchen that is full of gingerbread! Here is last year's gingerbread shelf.
4. Thankful for my friends from church. We went out for a Christmas tea and had a great time. We have gone to a few teas together. I am thankful that I have my mom's hats that they wear for this occasion.
5. I am thankful that we could set up the Christmas village on the piano this year. When we moved to this smaller home, I didn't have a place to set it up. A couple of years ago we inherited my mother-in-law baby grand piano. We have set the Large Nativity on it, The Disney Family and now the Village. The grands had fun helping to place the people and the snow. There is even a miniature Nativity!
I added a new link on the link bar. Christmas Decor has pictures of the trees
I decorated in the family room. More pictures will be added
