Tuesday 4

1.What did/do you do for work and how long did you work in that position? I worked at the postal service for 36 years. It was not what I had planned for. I did not have much job experience before that. 

2. Of the jobs you've had throughout life, which was your favorite? My first job working at Toy City was my favorite because I was a kid. If no favorite, which was the worst? Tell us why you loved/hated your job. I would say there were aspects of my last job I did not like.

I was 14 when I got my first real job at Toy City. It was a small toy store in downtown Santa Ana across from Woolworths. My mom was the company manager under the owner Bill Griffith. There were 9 stores in Orange Country. My mom oversaw the store managers and was a buyer for the store. So one summer I got to work there, and it was both fun and busy work. My mom would drop me off and visit the other stores. I got my training from the store manager named Harriet. There was a lot to learn and I was always busy. My mom went over a lot of the rules beforehand, so I knew what was expected. Keep busy. See what needed to be done. Harriet was nice to me but did not give me special attention. I was a kid in a toy store, so it was a great first job. I helped unpack stock and made sure the invoice matched the product. I put price stickers on the toys/games and books. I made sure everything was in its place. I might have spent a little more time in the book section. I bought several Trixie Beldon books over the summer. I felt so special getting lunch across the street at the grill across the street. The store offered free wrapping, and my mom showed me how to do that. I earned enough money to buy a sting ray bicycle that didn't last the summer. Little brother left it outside and it was gone. I also worked during the Christmas holiday and it sure was busy, but fun! The old cash register was interesting and terrifying because you had to look up the tax and know what keys to hit. Math was always that thorn in my side.

The following summer I had a volunteer at the local community hospital as a candy striper. It was a good experience. I did not work again until the end of my senior year because I was too busy afterschool sports, clubs and homework. I did get some babysitting jobs that helped out.

At the end of my senior year, I got a job and a local pharmacy store. It has a little of everything. It was like a smaller version of Savons, CVS of Walgreens. I worked a lot of weekends. The job at the Toy City prepared me for this job. The cash register was a little easier to work. The manager was nice and so was the owner. I only worked there for a couple of months. My dad let me know the post office was hiring full time students to work for a one year program and it paid much better than the Drugstore. It also had evening hours so I could take classes during the day.  We only had to work part time in the evening and full time in the summer. I started it in July and went through the following July. I got married that August. 

3. What did your job entail? I sorted mail. We sat/stood Infront of a metal case that had about 48 slots.

It has Orange County cities on the left side, California cities in the middle and some major cities on the right. There was also a half case to the right side for more states, Northern California hold out, International and special hold outs for Special Delivery, Political and even Santa at Christmas time. 

 Did it require a special education?  Not for the Postal assistant job. But in 1975 I got a permanent part time clerk job. I had to past the Civil Service test to get hired. I had to pass a scheme test to pass my probation. I was going to school full time, working and studying for the scheme test. I had to learn about 1500 cities in So California. I then got a random 100 that I had to sort in 5 minutes and could only miss 10. I missed 2. There were not a lot of part time jobs. But when they called me, I was at the top of the list because I had a 98 on my Civil Service test. I took part time, M-F 6pm-10pm. I was able to go to school. I would be throwing/casing business size envelopes. I graduated in 1977 but I decided to stay at the post office so I could start my family. That took awhile.

In 1986 I got hurt and I worked in Nixies troubleshooting mail that was rejected for various reasons. Whole doing that I took a college course on the basics of word processing, spreadsheets, power point. One day Ruth from Marketing asked me if I had any computer experience. That is when I started working in marketing department. I was a clerk working in the admin level. They could not change my salary so I made more money than some lower levels employees. A world opened up for me. The girl that didn't take any office classes in high school end up working in an office. Learning how to manipulate graphics and spreadsheets was so interesting. If I needed help with formulas, I went to finance for help. I worked under the Retail Specialist. Like most jobs, there was a hierarchy. The more I learned, the more that was expected from me and I liked the challenge. The only negative thing was they always threatened to move out injured employees even though we had been retrained to do the jobs. It was all because of the change in hierarchy of the post office. A lot of things had changed since I had start working there. Automation was the main cause of change. 

As Vending Coordinator, I over saw 144 machines for all cities in our districts. I worked with the vending clerks and they sent sales/hour reports to me. I had to log the information into a special program. Our district had the top 10 sales revenue locations in the nation. The only location higher than ours was Grand Central Station NY.  I worked with Postmasters and people at Headquarters in DC. I also worked with HQ as we transitioned to the next generation machines that you find in most post offices today. The vending machines were finally phased out in 2010.

I would come back from Hawaii and start the removal process of these machines.

Political mail always has priority preference. Vote by mail was separated and taken to hampers that went out several times a day to the voting locations. Taxes were also separated too. I remember working one evening collecting mail outside as lines of cars drove by to drop off their taxes the night before so they could get the correct postmark. The thing I really enjoyed was working on the Santa Mail. Normally first class mail was not allowed to be open. But Santa mail that was only addressed with North Pole was. The marketing department would ask for help opening up the mail and sorting them. Kids who asked for food and clothing were set aside and different organizations would take the letters and see if they could help the families. The other letters did not show a need got a letter from Santa back with Santa letter head. Different sections of our post office would adopt families and give them a complete Christmas. 

The last day I worked, I looked at the robots working and never imagined they would be in a post office. I walked passed the OCR's. 4 operators fed trays of mail into machines that read addresses, sprayed barcodes and sorted the mail. I remembered working in the early 80's testing a new thing-barcodes. We had to test the accuracy of the barcodes. Letter sorting machines led to business mail sorting machines. So many changes! I stayed there until I retired in 2011.

I am always thankful to look back and see my blessings each week. It doesn't mean I don't have issues that I have to deal with. It means that I chose to be thankful for my blessings in spite of the things that can bring me down, either physically, spiritually or emotionally. So here is my 

I am always thankful to be able to go to church. Either my home church, or one of the satellite churches. Our granddaughter sang at the Riverside church again. They theme verse was the same, the presentation a little bit different, but still great. After church I was able to work on my Bible journaling kits.

Even though I am retired, I am still busy and after a busy Sunday, I always look forward to resting on Monday morning. I finished up my kits and studied for the Monday night nights Bible study. We went over the 10 plagues in Egypt. We are studying from the book of Exodus and my mind always goes to the Ten Commandments with Charleston Heston. 

Always thankful for our Bible journaling meet up. I really feel that the Spirit guides me when I put things together. I have learned over and over that I can think I am being taught to teach others. But I also realize that God can use a ministry to teach the teacher. Its a humbling experience. It is also a great experience to still feel excited about learning the word and how it all fits together and points to Jesus!

Thankful to be able to go to Disneyland with two of my grands. It sure was busy and we only have one more month to go with our pass. Then we are blocked June-July. I was doing great until I stepped off the Main street shuttle. The step was a little high and I could tell I did not land quite right. So my lower back hurt off and on. I woke up okay today, but too much sitting was too much. So I am thankful for Ibuprofen and a heating pad. This is an ongoing issue because I have a bulging disk in my lower back. 

I saw the eye doctor today and she said my right eye qualifies for cataract surgery. I told her I would make another appointment in about 6 weeks when all my groups end and my grandson graduates. Thankful for health insurance!

1) This song begins with a guy realizing he's home alone. Do you enjoy being all by yourself? There are times when I enjoy being alone. When I am studying the Bible or watching a some of my favorite shows. I love the quiet of late nights. 

2) He watches the sun throwing shadows on the floor. Which room in your home lets in the most sun?

That would be the master bedroom. 

3) He sings that he may write a letter to his ex. If you were inspired to send someone a handwritten message, do you have stationery or notecards on hand? What about first-class postage stamps? I have it all!

4) This week's band, Better Than Ezra, got their start in Baton Rouge. All the members attended LSU and played their first gig at Murphy's, a bar near campus. When you were in your early 20's, where did you and your friends go to socialize? I mostly socialized with my siblings and some church friends.

5) While the band refuses to disclose the origin of their name, many assume the "Ezra" they refer to is poet Ezra Pound. Do you often read poetry? Not often and I think of the minor prophet named Ezra in the Bible. Ezra 3:11: “They sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, ‘For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever…’”

6) In 1995, when this song was popular, Michael Jordan "unretired" and returned to the Chicago Bulls. Tell us about a decision you wish you could undo. There are many I can think of. I would have stayed on track with bio science/nursing instead of Social Ecology.

7) Also in 1995, Phoebe Buffay first performed "Smelly Cat." Do you recall what show she sang on? Never heard of her.

8) Legendary New York Yankee Mickey Mantle died in 1995. How is your team doing so far this young baseball season? I have not paid attention.

9) Random question: What's in your garage, besides your car (lawn tools, holiday decorations, old paint cans, etc.)? No room for the car. I have a lot of holiday decorations and crafting things in there. We also have boxes of things that belong to my daughter. I am slowly going through boxes and getting rid of things. My back problems and slowing me down. I am getting help from my husband grandson. 

Speaking of my grandson, he just got another award from one of his groups. He has a 4.2 grade point average and has been accepted to several schools. He is thinking of going to University of Riverside if he gets some financial aid. He is okay if he goes to Jr college first. He will do well in whatever he decides.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. April 22nd is Earth Day...what's the most 'out of this world' place on earth you've ever visited? Tell us something about it. It would be seeing the Northen lights while on a cruise in Alaka. I wasn't able

to take pictures, but the image is forever in my mind. Also watching the glaciers there too. Snorkeling with turtles in Maui One came up to me. When it got to close, I turned the other way. I was in their world and the turtle was almost as big as me!

 

2. A favorite quote, verse, or song lyric with the word earth in it? Let there be Peace on Earth

I have seen Amy in concert twice and Michael McDonald once.

3. What's the most trivial thing about which you have a strong opinion? wipe down the counters?

4. What's your most commonly used kitchen utensil or tool? A small paring knife that fits well for my small hand. A small spatula I got at the Magnolia Farm in Texas. What's the last thing you made using that tool? I use the spatula everyday for my eggs. I use the knife daily to pare my apples.

5. Marilyn (Memphis Bridges) gave me a great book of 3000 questions, and I'm going to try to use one in our Hodgepodge every week. Here is today's - 

What is your greatest extravagance? My trip to Israel in the fall of 2026.

6. Insert your own random thought here. I am still hoping we can go to Israel in the fall. It is still 6 months away, but the money has to be paid in full by June and I do have the funds for i.. I have one thing that may get in the way, but I am trusting God to work it all out. It is a possible health issue.

I am always thankful for my iPhone and laptop. Both let me communicate with others and download graphics to use for Bible journaling and crafting. 

Thankful that we could see our granddaughter  lead worship again. After church we went to my older sons home and everyone came for an early birthday celebration for my daughter and younger grandson who share a birthday. They had a movie date on Tuesday and he was happy to miss school!

Thankful that I facilitate a group for our Women's Bible study. We will be studying Exodus for the next 5 week. The group leaders each go a cool canvas bag that hold various items for the group.

Thankful that my son and his wife had a safe flight to Japan. They are having a great time.

Thankful that our family will be joining our grandson for his Senior walk at his Volleyball game Friday night. Sadly he is not feeling well and is at the doctors right now. I pray he feels better soon because he works this weekend. Prayers appreciated. Thanks!

Medical field and I changed my major to bio-social science. I was working part time at the post office and end up staying there because the hours worked best for my kids/childcare.

 

4) The song was reportedly inspired in part by the relationship between popular British singer Cilla Black and her future husband. Cilla wanted him on the record label's payroll, so he became her road manager and driver. Have you ever worked for, or with, someone with whom you were romantically involved? My husband also worked for the postal service. We met at church youth group and I got into the post office before he did. He worked 37 years and I worked 36.

 

5) Although this Beatles song is credited to Lennon-McCartney, it was written mostly by Paul. He recalls showing up at John Lennon's house with the tune ready to go, and lyrics they both agreed were "crap." John gave Paul the car theme, and he took it from there. When has someone recently helped you out of a jam? My friend that give me car rides when I need it.

 

6) Paul also handles the lead vocals. When you hear a Beatles record, can you tell which band member is singing lead? Yes, if I know the band well.

7) When it was first released, this record got a lot of attention for the intricate guitar work by Paul and George Harrison. It's got a lot of percussion on it, too, including cowbell and tambourine. Have you ever played either cowbell or tambourine? (Do you think it sounds like fun?) I have played a tambourine that belonged to my mother-in-law.

8) Lava lamps were already popular in England but they weren't introduced to the United States until 1965. Today Walmart carries more than 20 different lava lamps. Have you ever owned one? Yes.

 

9) Random question: Do you have a recurring dream? Every so often I dream that I am working in the marketing department at the post office. The other day I found a picture of me with a few people I worked for in 1990. We were with the Postmaster General. I had a dream with them early Thursday morning. It made me think if they were still alive.

Tuesday 4 Simply the Best

1.   What was the best thing you have ever bought? I could say a lot of things. But since this is a meme done on my computer, I will say my laptop computer. I got my first one around 1990. Back then it was a desktop computer with a big monitor and the control part that sat on the floor. I had another one. in 2008 I got my first laptop. I am on my 3rd laptop.

       

2.   What was the best book you have ever read? The Bible will always be my first choice. I got a NKJV in 1991 for my birthday. I used it for regular church services and it is large print. I have a NASB Bible with wide margins. I have been using it since 1995 for Bible study. It is filled with notes and it is heavy! I have several study Bibles and I have my journaling Bibles.

I would say the Left Behind series- 16 books. I re read them all last year. The authors of the books are Tim LeHaye and Jerry Jenkins. His son is Dallas Jenkins, the created/producer of The Chosen.

My favorite book for many years was Gone With the Wind. It made me love reading historical fiction.

 3.   What is the best trip/vacation/holiday you've ever had? 4 trips to Hawaii and my 4 cruises.

If I had to chose just one, it would be the 2018 trip to Hawaii with the grands.

4.   What was the best movie or TV series you've ever watched? I love medical themed shows.

There are so many tv series and I know I have mentioned them here many times. Same with movies. But one series that really touched me was Roots, the mini-series. I also read the book by Alex Haley. It really opened my eyes to the American history of slavery.  My parents taught us that God Adam and Eve in His image and all men descend from them. 

Hubby and I watched the Ten Commandments around Easter and this past weekend we watched Fiddler on the Roof. I really enjoy musicals and have seen Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and in Vegas. Other Favorites are Sound of Music. I have also enjoyed The Chosen series.

1. Big week in the US of A...do you do your own taxes? What's something you've found 'taxing' lately? We have had our own tax lady do it for years. Health issues have been a bit taxing.

2. When it comes to travel are you a last minute packer or a lay it all out a week in advance type? Do you struggle to pack light? Share a packing tip that has worked for you. I start packing clothes at least a week ahead. I will make a check list too. I am supposed to go to Israel in October. I already got a backpack that is light. I want to make sure that I can fill it with what I need and still keep it under a certain weight. I have added a few things to it like my passport case and clear bags for my electronics and meds. I know it is early, and anything could happen between now and then, but I am okay with that.

3. April is National Grilled Cheese Month. Hmmm...who knew it got its own month? Do you like a grilled cheese sandwich? What ingredient do you add to take yours to the next level? I do like grilled cheese but I do not like those prepackaged single cheese slices. I will slice my own cheese. I like Havarti cheese the best. I like to use a healthier bread and I like to add tomato.

4. There's a well known quote that says-'A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are built for." John A. Shedd  Is constant growth necessary or do you think it's more important to prioritize stability and peace in your life? I actually think you need both. I look at things differently now and priorities have changed.

6. Insert your own random thought here. My son and his wife left for Japan today to celebrate their 10th anniversary which isn't until August. They wanted to see the cherry blossoms. I am so happy for them! Tomorrow is my daughter and grandson's birthday. She took him to the movies today. Tomorrow her son, my grandson is taking her to lunch. We got together Sunday for a family celebration. So happy my family is close.

Friday's Fave Five & Saturday 9

Look back this past week to the things I am grateful for and linking with Friday's Fave Five.

Thankful for a wonderful Easter. I miss the times that my whole family would get together. It was always fun to watch the kids collect eggs. This is the first Easter the grands did not collect eggs and they were all okay with it. Thankful to see Audrina lead worship at the Good Friday Service. Thankful that I was able to go to two services and see my grands. Thankful that my daughter was a part of a new church planting. She greeted and ushered and my grandson worked the merchandise center. Thankful to watch my older grand praising the Lord. Thankful that my youngest grand remembers to give me hug at church.

Thankful that my son and his family can take a much-needed vacation at the beach. Thankful how we can all help out with the dogs who have been staying here with us. They get picked up today.

Thankful for the fun time I had at senior fellowship. Thankful that my friend could take me. Thankful that in spite of our age, we can still have fun. Thankful to Pastor Erin who oversees this ministry. I am in the middle and Pastor Erin is in the striped shirt.

Thankful for ice packs and heating pads and physical therapy. Also thankful for physical therapy!

Thankful for my Bible study and faith journaling and Bible journaling that helps me through the rough times. Thankful that I will be leading a group for our Women's ministry that begins on Monday. Pastor Erin oversees that. We had a Zoom last night to go over things. Praying that my physical issues don't get worse. I welcome your prayers. 

Praying for a safe return for the astronauts of the Artemis mission. They will be splashing down in San Diego, which is an hour and a half from me.

2) This song is a duet between members of two superstar groups – Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac and Don Henley of The Eagles. Which band do you listen to more often, Fleetwood Mac or The Eagles? I am more familiar with The Eagles.

 

3) In this duet, "lace" tells us she is stronger than we know and "leather" admits that sometimes he's vulnerable. Do either side of this lyrical equation apply to you? Do you think you're either tougher than people realize, or more sensitive than they know? For many years I only showed the tougher side of me. I am actually more sensitive. I have learned to accept that part of me too. 

 

4) Both Stevie and Don are born Westerners. Stevie spent her early childhood in Arizona and Don was born in Texas and stayed there through college. Today Stevie has two homes – one in Pacific Palisades and another in Phoenix – while Don has a beautiful home in Dallas. Do you feel rooted where you are? Or can you see yourself moving to another city or state in the future? I have always lived in So California along with the rest of my family. We are happy here and no plans to move.

 

5) Stevie and Don were romantically involved in the 1970s, but after they broke up they remained friendly. Not only did they record this song in 1981, they went on tour together in 2005. Have you recently heard from an ex? No

6) Stevie admits a lifelong passion for Animal Crackers, those little cookies shaped like tigers, bears and elephants. Is your go-to snack sweet, like Stevie's, or is it salty? I prefer salty. But even salty turns into sugar! So I have to limit both!

7) Don likes Velveeta on his burgers. Describe your ideal cheeseburger. I don't eat cheeseburgers.

8) In 1981, when this song was popular, both Maserati and Mercedes Benz introduced luxury convertibles. Have you ever owned a convertible? Would a convertible be practical for your lifestyle? No and no.

9) Random question: What are you most looking forward to this week?  Seeing my whole family on Sunday. We will be celebrating my daughter and grandson's birthday. It will also be a go away party for my middle son and his wife who are going on vacation to Japan on the 15th.We will be studying from the book of Exodus.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Egg on your face, putting all your eggs in one basket, a good egg, walk on eggshells, nest egg, or a tough egg to crack...which eggy idiom currently applies to your life in some way? Explain 

I would say good egg. I love to eat eggs because they are good for you. A good egg is a positive saying and I want to think of the good things about people.

2. April 7th is National Beer Day...are you a beer drinker? If so do you have a favorite? Beer battered fish, beer bread, beer can chicken, beer brats...which one sounds good to you? Have you made any of these? I can't stand beer and I have not tried any of those things that I know of. When I was a child, my parents would host a Saturday group of friends that would play cards and music. There was food, beet and other drinks. They put us kids to bed early, but I would sneak out. I remember going into the front bathroom and seeing beer bottles on the toilet tank top and yellow in the toilet and that made an awful association in my head. 

3. Do you have siblings? What's the best thing about being your sibling? If you don't have siblings, what would you say are the pros and cons of being an only child? I am the oldest. I have 2 sisters and my baby brother and we are all senior citizens. I did not like sharing a room when I was a kid. I love my siblings and though we don't get together as often as I like, we stay close with a family group chat.

The best thing about being my sibling? I am the matriarch of the family, but my brother is the one we all look up too. 4. How do you feel about floral scents in products? Do you have a favorite? I can't wear any fragrances because of allergies. I could use light citrus like scents. When I was a teen and young adult, I would wear Loves Lemon scent. I can use essential oils. I need to make myself some by mixing a few drops with coconut oil.

5. What's one thing in your home that begins with the letter G that you would say is a keeper, something you'll hold on to? Tell us why. My Grandmother's Bibles. I will pass them on.

6. Insert your own random thought here. This was the first Easter I did not have all my grandkids together. But I did see them all that day. We went to first service and greeted before second service. Then we went to my daughter's church where my daughter greeted/ushered and my grandson worked the mini store kiosk. It was the opening Sunday for the satellite church in our city. We have visited the main facility that is huge! I am looking forward to seeing them and all my kids next Sunday.

Fridays Fave Five & Saturday 9

Thankful to attend church at the Riverside campus to hear our granddaughter sing on the worship team. The church is new and meets at a middle school that my daughter in law went to. It reminds me of the early years of our church when we first started going in 1993. My grandson is almost 12, the age my son was when we started going to NBCC. He and his wife met in youth group. My son proposed to her at a Wednesday night Bible study and the Pastor was in on it. They got married in 2005, 2 months after we moved into the new church. So thankful to see how we have been blessed all these years.

Thankful that American Idol has a faith night and I loved the whole program. I have been to two American Idol takings and have seen the judges up close.

Thankful that we were able to get our doxie Minne to the vet because she had some stomach virus. Thankful that after a few days, she is feeling better. I had to cancel my PT appointment and will go next week. Thankful for ice packs and heating pads along with meds to get through the pain. I just can't pick up things like I used too. My grandson and husband have been moving things for me. Thankful that I am making progress on my decluttering.

Thankful for being able to watch the lift off of Artemis 2. We go into space because God has given men the knowledge to do so. He is the creator of everything. Thankful to be able to see the moon that night knowing the Artemis was headed towards the moon. I like taking pictures on my camera. Praying they come back safely.

Thankful for a wonderful Good Friday Service. We went to the first service. My granddaughter was the only girl singing and I am thankful that God has given a heart of worship. I made her and I a bracelet with black and red beads, silver crosses and heart that says love. I also made each granddaughter a bracelet for Easter. I took these screenshot later while watching the replay.

After service we went grocery shopping and got food for Easter, and I also stocked up on canned goods. Thankful that hubby was there to help with the heavy things.

1) This song is best known from the 1948 movie of the same name, but it was originally written for a 1933 Broadway play called As Thousands Cheer. In the play, a young man reads about the parade in a New York newspaper and decides to go and show his lady love off to parade goers. What's the most recent parade you attended? Disney Paint the Night Parade.

2) On Broadway, the song was performed by Clifton Webb. He'd had a busy stage career, appearing in musicals as well as plays by Oscar Wilde and Noel Coward, but when he was in his mid-50s, he was considered too old to be a leading man. Broadway offers stopped coming. He was unexpectedly cast by Otto Preminger for the film noir Laura and a new career was born. He worked steadily in Hollywood for 20 years and earned three Oscar nominations. Tell us about a time you were grateful your life took an unanticipated turn. Deciding to go to our church for the first time instead of another.

3) Today he's fondly remembered by the students at UCLA who have benefited from The Clifton Webb Scholarship of the Arts. If you could give an endowment to a school or charity, what would you like it to be used for? Help kids who are qualified to get into school. but need the financial aid.

4) The biggest chocolate Easter egg was made in Italy, measured 34 feet tall and weighed a staggering 15,000 lbs. Do you think it's possible to have too much chocolate? Yes, but a little once in awhile is great, especially with peanut butter.

  

5) After chocolate, the top-selling Easter candy is Peeps Marshmallow Chicks. They're so popular that they were once the subject of a Jeopardy clue. Do you often watch Jeopardy? 2-3 times a week.

6) Jelly beans are also popular this time of year. In a 2024 poll, jelly bean fans responded that black licorice is their favorite flavor. It's Crazy Sam's least favorite. How about you? What jelly bean flavor is at the top of your list, and which is at the bottom? Give me some Good N Plenty! I love black licorice!

7) We've been talking a lot about sweets this morning. The only holiday that generates more candy sales is Halloween. When do you eat more candy: Easter or Halloween?

 

8) According to the National Retail Federation, Americans are doing more of their holiday shopping this year at discount "dollar stores" than at department stores like Target and Walmart. Do you often make trips to the "dollar store?" If yes, what do you usually pick up there? I was there the other day to buy cards and candy for the grands. They will also get a Starbucks card. I miss the cute baskets I used to make them.

 

 9) Easter is considered the season of rebirth. What makes you feel refreshed or rejuvenated? A good nights rest. Sleeping 6-7 hours straight and feeling good when I wake up. Listening to Christian music refreshes me spiritually.

We will be going to first service and greeting for second this coming Sunday. Then we will be going to my daughter's church at 11:00. Her church is opening their satellite church, and my daughter has been on the planning committee. She will be greeting and my grandson will be manning the information group.
