Illustrating my Faith

Many of you have asked what Bible journaling is. I discovered  it when I was looking for country graphics on Pinterest back in 2015. Then I found Illustrated Faith.com and the IF Facebook group. Illustrated Faith.com sells both physical kits and weekly digital kits. Some of the pages I made were from tracings or color pages I found on the net.

I bought my first journaling bible at our local Christian bookstore and paid $49.00 but used a coupon.
It is an ESV single column, black hardback. The only thing I worried about was the small print. But I had several study Bible that had larger print, so I was okay. There were not a lot of choices back then, but there are now! We don't have any Christian bookstores nearby anymore. You can find Bible journals at Amazon, and Christianbook.com. You can use them with blank pages and different sizes and prints. You can also find then with line art in them like The Inspire Bible. Hobby Lobby carries that one.

It took me a month before I started. I was use to highlighting in my Bible and even take a few notes. I was not sure about drawing in my Bible, because I was not an artist. But it is not about the art, it is about connecting with the Word of God with illustrations of your choice, or just taking notes. When you go to the IF site, click down to where it says Learn More. Then read the first entry titled Where to start.

This is how I did my first page. I was used to scrapping, so I did what I was used to. I realized that I was creative. I created a whole website of over 300 pages. I scrapped and was always on the decorating team for events. Now I teach it to a small group of women at my church! I said something in a crafting group I am in and a girl made this cute saying square for me. We create for God and He beauty as we worship Him by connecting to His Word.

This is a page I made for Advent 2017 in a travelers journal. Graphics from Illustrated Faith Print and Pray Shop.

This is another travelers journal for Gratitude document, graphics from Illustrated Faith Print and Pray.

These are "Bibledex cards. It comes from the idea of the Rolodex.

ok WOW> So I have to admit...that's much too visually stimulating/busy for me. BUt what an awesome concept for people who love art/to draw. I'm going to tell my oldest girl about this.

I am creative in some ways......so maybe I'll pick up a journaling Bible but my pics will be very simple and not busy. You're great at it!!
