1. Besides a house or car what is the most expensive thing you've ever bought?
A 10 day island vacation package to Hawaii. We were going to Maui for our nieces wedding. Dad mentioned he wanted to go to Peal Harbor and the Big Mo. So we made arrangement to go to Oahu and surprise him. We were there for a week and then we took an inter island plant to Maui for another 5 days. There are more pictures at my Website. So glad we went because we lost dad 7 months later.
2. What is the coldest temperature you've experienced?
That would be the Hubbard Glacier, while on a cruise in Alaska, June 2006.
The hottest would be 117, Las Vegas and Laughlin Neveda in the summer.
3. Can you name a favorite TV/Radio program that you secretly can't get enough of or one that you will watch every chance you get?
Perhaps binge watch?
There are lots of series that I like to watch. An old time favorite would be I Love Lucy. I love medical shows so I watch all the current ones like Grey's Anatomy, The Resident and Chicago Med. I also like to see 911, and Chicago Fire. I also like Survivor and American Idol. I have watched General Hospital for years.
4. What is very wrong but sounds good to most people at first?
Choosing a college major right out of high school.
Buying a home to quickly, not really taking time to look at the big picture.

Happy Monday
It has been really hot the past couple of days, in the high 90's. It should be nicer today. I plan to go out to the spa later and relax and get my vitamin D. Then I am thinking of coloring my hair. I have put it off, but I think I am ready to do it. Depends on how I feel.
I have been busy sewing mask, reading through the book of Deuteronomy and working on my Bible crafts. My niece that is a RN said she would take more.
I had a phone eye appointment today. It was a follow up from my phone consultation about the broken blood vessel in my eye. The blood has finally cleared up but I still have some minor pain. When this whole Covid thing has settled, I will see my eye doctor for my yearly appointment. I know I have dry esyes and cataracts. I have gained weight in the middle from overeating and I am sure my blood levels are not what they were from this time last year when I was not eating much because of an inflamed esophagus.
I outlined a picture in my journalng Bible with a Sharpie no bleed pen. It is from Joshua 4. Now I plan to watercolor it. I will share the picture when I am done. Meanwhile, here are a couple I have done in the past.
This is Mt Nebo, where Moses went and God showed him the Promise Land. Moses dies there.
Joshua is the new leader now ready to go into the Promise land.

Quirky Questions from SwapBot
1. Did you become what you wanted to be when you grew up? Are you happy with your choice? I got my degree in Social Ecology. I changed my path in college and I wish I would have stayed in the medical field instead of the social. While going to school I started working part time at the Postal Service and retired there after 36 years. I got to retire at 55 and that was a plus. So looking back, yes I am happy with my path.
2. Did man really go to the moon or was it a publicity stunt?Yes I believe so.
3. Given the opportunity to change one major aspect of your life (i.e. career, relationship, family) with no guarantee of the outcome, would you take the chance? Why? Probably career, because I let feat get in the way of something I was really interested in.
4. Does money buy happiness? I would say yes for many people
5. What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Thank God for a new day!
6. What are we going to do when we run out of room to bury the dead? Cremations will be the norm.
7. What is your greatest fear? Why? Is it rational or unreasonable? Death not actually being dead, because I believe in heaven, but how I will die. I have seen my grandmother and parents all die and it was awful. I would rather just be given a pill/shot to go out peacefully.
8. How do you feel about the exploitation of your private data in the digital age? Does it ever cross your mind or are you hyper-aware of the risks? My Social Security has already been compromised. Technology has a negative side. I try not to dwell on it.
9. You can be forgiven one debt. What is it? If you don’t have debt, then how did you do it? The mortgage.
10. Hot or cold? That depends on the situation of course!
11. What is your favorite thing in the world (aside from family, friends, pets)? My relationship with the Lord.
12. You have to give up one of your five senses. Which one would you go without? Taste
13. Do you believe everyone has a doppelgänger? Maybe some people, but I have not really given this much thought.
14. Likewise, does everyone have a soulmate or is it just a matter of proximity and circumstance? I like to believe I have an angel watching over my soul, does that count?
15. Imagine you have a theme song that plays every time you enter a room. What would your song be? You've Got A Friend

Birthdays and Saturday9
Thursday we celebrated my daughter and my grandson's birthday. It was a success! My daughter let everyone know and so there was
a series of cars going by at designated times to surprise him. His classmates and teachers drove by during the day. They got down
to take pictures all about 8 feet apart.
My daughter got off work after lunch. Her office surprised her with a lunch catered by El Torrito. She brought lots of food when she came home. She gave us some and then took the rest back to her apartment. Then she came back and we all went to see Elijah. We all lined up and then went by honking when he was brought out. It was lots of fun! After we went by again, we parked our car and Audrina and Elijah came walking over with a sign for Renee.Minnie and her mama Rey were happy to see each other!
Renee gave Elijah his gift he put it on before we left.
We picked up the Chinese food from Renee's favorite place and headed home for dinner. Then we sang Happy Birthday to Renee. Jazmyn made the cake earlier in the day. Then they left since Renee took a vacation day.
I missed not being there for this but this is the picture his mama posted.
Today hubby and I had to go to the bank which had a long line now that the stimulus checks are coming in. Everyone we saw had mask on. The bank only allowed 2 people in a time and a security guard manned the door. Everyone was polite. Then we went to Lowe's to get some gardening stuff. We want to grow some veggies. Everyone had mask there. No one is complaining. Everyone is trying to do their part. We have about 165,000 people in our city and we have about 108 confirmed cases with 4 deaths. Our city gov. sent out a link that we can check daily. It has our city and the surrounding cities in and what is going on along with a breakdown of information. I like how we can stay informed. I try not to listen to the news anymore than necessary because of the politics.
We also dropped off two lunch packs at church that the young adults will be passing out to the homeless. I also completed the census. Tomorrow I plan to get caught up with my Bible reading, journaling/dex cards and face mask.
Oh, here is my modified quick answers to Saturday9.
1. I have to do some laundry but don't want to.
2. My Lifegroup was cancellled because if Covid 19 and conference to see Lysa Terkeurst. Church!
3. My dog Minnie is the one I snuggle. Just kisses and no debate!
4. Not a Simpson fan.
5. I love most Disney movies. Moanna was cute!
6. Comment vas-tu? - How are you in French
7. I don't really care for puzzles.
8. California's governor is Gavin Newsom. I think he is doing a good job with the Covid virus. He didn't wait until the last minute. He is keeping us well informed.
9. I complimented my grand daughter on the cake she made her mom and my grandson for helping his Ampa bbq chicken.

Tuesday 4 is taking a spring break but I thought I would add my own thoughts. I saw the lamb and it made me thing of the study I have been working on called The Shepherd and the Lamb. I got the study over at Illustrated Faith. Basically saying that Jesus is both the Shepherd that watches over us and the Lamb that was sacrificed for our our sins. There is a lot of focus during Easter, but as I say, Jesus is the Reason for all Seasons!
I don't think anyone will forget this Easter. It was the first Easter I was not in church in my 64 years of life. But we still celebrated at home and the message was so good! The focus was on how Jesus talked to Mary Madgalene first and then she shared with others.(John 20:1-20) It made me also think of the woman at the well who talked with Jesus and then shared it with others. Back in Bible days, women were considered inferior yet Jesus showed over and over the value of women. This is important because it shows us that Jesus didn't come for just a certain type of people, He came for all of us.
Now back to the Shepherd. John 10 says 14“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
We are the sheep of his hand. God can use us to reach others and others are watching how we act as Christians. Do we follow the Shepherd's command to love God and love others?( Matthew 22:36-40, Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:27
I feel like God is speaking to us during this trying time. He is our Shepherd and He wants us to hear His voice. To keep following Him and trusting in Him.
Psalm 95:6-7 "come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. 7For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep under His care.
