Today I had a few friends over to work on Bibledex cards. I put everything together. Then we turn on our Christian music and work on our cards. All the verses are focused on love. After my friends I watched a few YouTube videos with Lisa Harper. I was able to get all my cards done! Here are my cards. Now I just have to read all the verses and write a pray or thoughts on the back of the card.

Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? Tuesday 4 #4 Welcome to another Tuesday 4 invented by Toni Taddeo and kept in memory of her. Do You Want to Build a Snowman is a song from the movie Frozen, but I think it would make for some great questions too.

1. Have you built snowmen, women or even entire families of snow people like little sister Tootie did in Meet Me in St. Louis? Did you use a carrot for the nose?
Tell us all about how it.I live in So. California and we rarely get snow here. I have to drive 1 1/2 hours to get to the mountains where it snows. Back in 2006 I went to Big Bear and I made a little snowman, no carrot. But I do love snowmen and have a lot of snowmen graphics over at my website. This winter I saw Meet me in St. Louis and thought the family was cute. I was sad when Tootie destroyed her snow family but I understood why. Nothing last forever.
2. Are you hoping for snowmen to melt soon in hotter weather? Tell us about your favorite time of year and please let us know why you love it. List some ingredient of that season that make it special for you. I love fall and spring. Summer is way to hot over here and goes from June-October. I love the leaves falling and the cooler weather. Winter can be cold at night and this winter we had some cold days for So. Calif. I like to wear my scarves and boots when it is cold. We will be warm this week mid 70's to love 80's but then rain is coming after that. I like to bring winter into my house. My snowmen family is on the mantle.

3.Remember bundling up as a child? It took so long to do then you had to go potty and all those layers had to come off again! I do remember bundling when we went to the snow Is dressing up something you enjoy doing ? Why? It really depends on where I am going. I like to look nice when I go to church. I dress up when I need to. The rest of the time I dress for comfort.
4. In Frozen, the little girl desperately wants to reconnect with her sister and reminds her of the happy times of building snowmen. Are you disconnected from anyone you'd love to reunite with? What happy times with friends and siblings brings you fond memories and smiles to you? I am close to my family and extended family. I also have a lot of friends from church.

Yesterday I did a post on my visit to the Museum of Tolerance and got to hear a survivor speak on the Holocaust. Please check it out if you can. Thanks

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Yesterday some of my lifegroup friend and I went to the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. It was also visit a museum for free day. It was an experience I will not forget. We got to here Hamrom Deutch, a Holocaust survivor speak. He spoke in great detail about his life as a survivor. His hope in God kept him alive. Today is 75 years since survivors were liberated from Auschwitz.

There was so much to see there and I hope to go back. I wanted to get the Diary of Ann Frank but the library had just closed when we got there. The Anne exhibit was so interesting and I learned a lot. There were other things there too like the exhibit that pays tribute to the Mendez Family and their landmark case of Mendez vs Westminster. Para Los Ninos - For the children. It recalls the events that led to the end of segregation in schools in Orange Country California. It was a landmark case that gave precedent to Brown verse the Board Education.

On Septemeber 14, 2007, a Mendez v. Westminster Commemorative Stamp was issued the honor this case. I worked for the Postal Service Marketing Department at the time and was involved with the first day ceremony. My cousin Johanna Mendez(Joanie) grandparents filed the suit. Joanie's aunt travels all over the United States speaking about equality. She also received the Presidential of Freedom on February 11, 2011.

Sylvia Mendez with Thurgood Marshall Jr, son of Thurgood Marshall who was the lawyer for the Brown VS the Board of Education suit. He later became the first African American appointed to the Supreme Court in 1967.

Artist Rafael Lopez, of San Diego.

Sylvia Mendez receiving the Presidential Metal of Freedom.

President George H.W.Bush is right behind her and Sylvia was happy yo meet him!

After leaving the Museum, we drove by the Staples center to remember Kobe Bryant and his daughter. Most of the streets leading to the Staples Center were closed off since the Grammy's were going on. So many people were walking to get to the center to pay respect to Kobe.

1. Do you have a hobby or a special interest? Yes I enjoy illustrating my faith in my Bible, in a journal or on Bible dex cards. Why do you enjoy it? I like reading the Bible and I like being creative. Putting the two together opens my eyes more to the Word of God. Can you tell us how you became interested or what particularly interests you about your hobby.In 2015 I was looking at things on Pinterest and came across drawings or artwork in Bibles. I eventually found a group on Facebook founded by Shanwa Noel. I joined the group to learn more about it. Then my cousin Joanie and friend Coreen started meeting to work on our Bibles. Would you share some photos or pictures of your hobbies or interests or lovely things you've seen along the way?

This is a page I made for Advent 2017 in a travelers journal. Graphics from Illustrated Faith Print and Pray Shop.

This is another travelers journal for Graditude documment, graphics from Illustrated Faith Print and Pray.

These are "Bibledex cards. It comes from the idea of the Rolodex.

I also do crafting for Christmas boutiques. I make clothespin angels, and baby Jesus in a wreath ornaments. I also make sugar scrubs with essential oils and you can also see succulents in containers. My friend and I were at a Christmas church event.

2. Gardening is a hobby for some. Do you garden or grow house plants?
Hubby and both like succulents and plumerias.
What do you like about it? There are so many varieties of succulents and they are so easy to go. You just cut a piece off one plant and put it in dirt. What are your favorite plants inside or out? Pictures? We'd love to see photos of you house or garden plants or hear about ideas you have for growing things or creating beauty with plants around the house. I can't find my succulent pictures but here are the flowers in my garden.

3. If you could design a dream garden or park , how would you do it? What would it contain.? Maybe include a picture from the net of one you think closely fits your dream garden. I don't have time to look for a picture, but I would like lots of trees, flowers and some sort of water feature like a pool, pond or fountain.

4. Do you like being outdoors? If so, what attracts you to the great outdoors and if not, what keeps you inside? Do you walk in the rain? Are there parks near you that you like to visit? I do like to be outside when I can. I don't mind walking in a light rain. I loved when we were in Lake Tahoe. It was cold, but we went hiking and got to see a bear catching Salmon and a beautiful rainbow. I think pictures are on a previous post. I love the beach and mountains. I live in the city so I love when we get out of town to enjoy the sights.

This is a picture I took in Hawaii. Did I say I like to take pictures?

Every year I pray for the one word that I will focus on for the year. Last year it was focus and I really needed that word because I was going through a rough time. I thought that needed to be my word again for this year. But one morning as I was praying, the word peace came to me. Tonight I was looking through some of my pages at my website and I found a page titled Peace. I opened the page and found this poem.

A prayer of St. Francis of Assisi:

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord,union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

St. Francis lived in Italy during the 12th century. He is the patron saint of plants and animals.

Psalm 29:11 The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.

Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Wayfaring....

1. Where have you traveled and what is the furthest you've been from home? 1971 I went to Acapulco Mexico by car when I was 15 years old for 6 weeks. I went with a friend I met in Jr.High. The whole family was going for a wedding. It was a great learning experience for me. I am thankful to my parents who allowed me to go.

I had a fear of flying so hubby and I did not go far because I did not want to fly! We went to Vegas, Reno, and Crater Lake Oregon by car. When hubby had to go to Las Vegas for a convention around 1996, I finally flew for the first time and actually enjoyed it.
All the following vacations have pictures at my webhome located at the link on the right.

In 2000, I went to Hawaii with my cousin Joanie and sister Terry and loved it!

In 2006, Hubby and I went to Seattle Washington were we boarded on a cruise to Alaska. While in Alaska we went into Canada. After the cruise, hubby and I spent a few days exploring Seattle.

In the fall of 2008, I went to New York with my sister and parents. From there we went on a cruise that went to Boston, Maine, and Canada.

In 2009, hubby and I went to Hawaii for our 35th anniversary.

In 2012 my hubby and dad went to Oahu Hawaii for 7 days. Then we flew to Maui and met up with my siblings for a wedding.

In November of 2018, hubby and I went to Oahu again with our grandkids and their parents.

This past October hubby and I went to Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. We drove and it took us 12 hours with several stops. We plan to go back next fall with the family. Next time we will fly.

Bridal Veil Falls, Yosemite.

2. Is there a location other than where you are, that you think would be a nice place to live? Hawaii!

3. Do you have a photo or story from a favorite place to visit? I have pictures at my website from most of my visits. Any of the states underlined above will take you to lots of pictures.

4. What dream destination do you have tucked away in your heart? Do you think you'll be able to visit them one day or are plans in the making? We are planning another trip to Hawaii-Maui with my family in 2021. We are also thinking of going to Disney World in 2024 with the family for our 50 year anniversary.
